The NFL testing policy is pretty much a joke and you have to be a retard to get caught. Unless previously testing positive, you can only be tested during a short window in the summer and once the season starts you won't be tested unless you have previously tested positive. Tons of guys smoking weed and doing roids in the NFL, they just don't test once the season starts which is ridiculous. In a way, they basically encourage it.

it goes like this
they choose 6-8 guys randomly every 2 weeks to get tested. you have 2 days to find the nearest place to test. so you could get tested a few times a year or not at all.. its the luck of the draw.
I would only run suspension if I were them. or if they ran prop run it outside the window where you could get tested. the NFL has a very strong union but the owners can crack them during collective bargaining, they don't want the image of their guys using steroids because steroids are bad bad bad!! however its lax enough where you can still juice and get away with it.

Being told it was adderall. Stedman is a good guy. I've followed him since his Jr yr high school out of Miramar high school through his collegiate career and now Pro. I can't see him being on anything very strong. Only trouble he got into during college was, he was so poor, he had to steal cold medicine. Charges where dropped and he was never suspended from the team, for whatever that's worth.
My bad, there are two tests. One is a substance abuse test, which unless you tested positive previously, only happens during a 4 month period in the off-season. This is for stuff like marijuana, cocaine, etc.
The PED/steroid testing goes year round, so its obvious they are more concerned with that and basically
"encourage" nod, nod, wink, wink the use of MJ during the season...

pretty sure pot can be spotted up to 6 months after you use just from urine which is why its only every 4 months.. i'm not an expert on this though.
Gordon got busted for pot and is gone for the year. a shame cause the guy is a stud WR.

Also in offseason you can miss one schedueled test or be unavailable with no consequence.....basically there is time for a blood transfusion....You have to realize though a lot of these guys are not that smart about it and think they are superman or untouchable....Money and roids can do that

THC can be detected up to 30 days this is for people who smoke every day or are very obese. THC stores in fat deposits which is why overweight folks have a higher tendency to fail drug tests for THC. For somebody who is in good shape and is a random user, they should not typically get caught. As it can be out of their system in as little as 72 hours.
gotcha.. not sure why I thought it was 6 months.. I think someone once told me that. then again a pothead once told me if you drink a lot of beer before your test you will pass. so gotta remember the sources of my info lol.
I only smoked pot once in my life in Jamaica years ago so its a moot thing for me. hate to see a guy like Gordon suspended over it.. a damn shame
