30 lbs in 3 month program

if you are skinny it isn't hard to gain 30 pounds in 3 months if you juice up and eat a lot. but is that the way to do it? NOPE.

this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Piana has superior genetics than 99.5% of people out there, so his advice is fine and dandy, but it will NOT work on 99.5% of people AS WELL as it would on those who are in that .5%.

what will end up happening is the person will have huge gains in water, fat, and a little muscle. and tons of organ strain! and say goodbye to your soft tissues

Too true stevesmi. Thirty pounds is one thing but he's talking about 30lbs of lean pure muscle (with or without gear) and no, I don't see that happening. What I do see happening is, like you said, a lot of water weight and fat gain with doing his plan.

Still, it will be interesting to watch though.

Gaining 30 pounds in 3 months isn't hard - the majority of it will be fat and water however.

Think of it this way. If the average man, let's say 200 pounds and 6 feet tall and 8% body fat, did this program 4 times - he would be 320 pounds at 8% body fat. He could diet down and be 20-30 pounds heavier then the current Mr. Olympia on stage. It isn't that easy.

Even with drugs, building muscle is a slow process. Rich is just trying to push his supplement line.

Realistically, if you prefect your diet and training a natural athlete can gain about 10 pounds of muscle per year, an enhanced athlete about 20 pounds of muscle per year.

This is all marketing hype with a lot of catches....it might be interesting to watch in order to get some tips, but I would not rely on this programm in hopes of getting huge so fast.

I often refer to my brother with these types of things. Skinny kid...packed on like 45 in about 9 months. Ended up bank tracking you make it a solid 45. Water weight and fat....Why? Just to see a bigger number on the scale.

Doesn't make sense to me

Yeah exactly, 30 pounds is one thing but you're not going to gain 30 lean pounds in 3 months. I know that and Piana can sucker in some more people for his 5% supplement line. I'm sure he'll be pushing them hardcore. I was able to gain 20 lbs. in 3 months without gear when I was younger and using creating, meal replacements w/half serving of weight gainer and food along with training every other day. I considered myself a hardgainer with a fast metabolism and I know it wasn't all pure lean muscle but I didn't get "fat" but still had a tight waist and looked pretty jacked at the time. I was pretty lean but not "ripped". The type of look whereas the fitness industry would say I need to cut more but the general public thinks you're huge and ripped, lol. The general public is very easy to please. Just look at these actors that aren't in great shape and they always say on the entertainment shows "Actor 'x' shows off their new ripped physique." I look and think, "What ripped physique???"
