Biceps not Growing Much

TreyG

New Member
So ive read that biceps grow 1 inch per 15 pounds of weight. Well i cant understand that totally. So there are guys that are my weight with 18 inch arms so why would i have to gain more weight to get my arms bigger. Please help !!

1 inch per 15 lbs? Idk about that.....IMO, lagging or dominate body parts are genetic....considering your diet & training is on point ofcourse.....like I've always had awesome arms, 21 inches & regardless of how lean or big I am, there always lean, vascular and full......I've got very broad and full delts, but idk why my Traps are the last thing to grow and the first to shrink on a cut.......sometimes it is what it is....

What's your training like? And keep in mind, big triceps play a big part in great arms.....a lot of dudes ignore that

How many times a Week are you doing Biceps.
Old School BB-ers use to do Arms 3 x a week for Growth.
Mixing up the Workouts between Heavy and Light with Low Reps/High Reps/and Extremely High Reps.
Sometimes you really need to Kill them for some Growth....................................... JP
P.S.
As far as the 1" per 15 Lbs.
That's not going to hold true except for the Genetically Gifted - maybe.

Post Edit:
Forgot to mention that I do Supersets when I want Growth.
You've got to Hit that Tricep like boybravo mentioned.
I rarely hit Biceps by themselves, doing Tricep/Bicep supersets has always worked.

I'd say hit them hard, Train them at lease twice a week. Everyone has body parts that grow just standing around and others that won't freaking budge lol

For instance my arms grow like crazy, I only have to train them once a week. My calves & shoulders on the other hand have to be trained twice a week. Those workouts are tough because I push myself to the limit.

This defies all logic lol. Total bro science.

1. it can be genetics.. some dudes are blessed with inferior or superior muscles

2. weighted pullups. I have found that nothing grows my biceps more than them, and switch up the grips. like don't just do a front grip, do reverse grip.. side grip.. etc. and don't forget rows too

3. curls are for girls. the only reason I do curls is to mire at myself in the mirror to be quite honest. I know that deep down they aren't going to truly build the huge biceps like pullups or rows can. I see so many bird chested newbs doing them and I SMH, they should be doing compound lifts for the next 4 years and building a proper base.. curls aren't going to do a thing for their 12" arms

Ok i app all the feedback. I hit them twicw a week but i will go 3 times and destroy them. Surely this will help

Genetics play a huge factor.

At the same time though a lot of people don't know what it takes for a muscle to truly grow...
No two workouts should be the same If its not growing your not training hard enough. That's my motto.

I say the same thing about my arms but can is ay I train them to my max potential every session..... no. I would like to but honestly there is always more in the tank. Whenever you think the tank is empty that's typically your mind saying "hey stop it" But your body can probably handle more.

Try new tings man. I blew my arms out today actually. Had an awesome session.

NY all about that synthol. Didn't you see him talking about injecting it in his sac? I hear they call him "grandfather clock" now days....

I'll have to agree with the genetics plug. My legs blow up quick (I just got off a year long dry spell after surgery, so everything is responding great) and my shoulders & lats/back do the same. My bi's/tri's grow decently, and my pecs grow like shit even wide gripping most every push lift and doubling up on fly's. Everyone is different bro

I saw it dallas. Call him DHN. Deez Huge Nuts. Haha

See my calves are naturally bigger than most of my buddies who have been training for 10 years. So i guess i got the short end of the stick when it cones to biceps. But dallas i will be honest man sometimes i tell myself thats enough when its prob not so from now on im gonna destroy these mother fuckers. Haha

It's hard to tell you man everyone is different but the iv seen 10 pounds to add an inch never seen the 15, I will call bs on that tho I don't really think it works that way. I know for me I lift heavy always have because it works for me, I can get my arms pretty big for my size and I don't really change things up much when i want to put size on them. Some will tell you one thing but it won't do jack for you but works for them... It's just how this sport is no one is the same. Just keep at it and if you don't see a change try something else and make sure you are feeding your body man, without food you won't grow. I have been eating so much nothing even looks good to me anymore but I make myself eat hahaha.

Unfortunately my biceps are such that the tendon is long and has a high up insertion point, so that when my arm is straight and relaxed it looks flat. Friggin genetics for you.

That's how mine are too. I takes me more peak work.
Hammer curls bro. Also twist out at the top of your rep for dumbell curls to force blood into the peak.

The biggest mistake I see people make when it comes to training arms is using too much weight. It's a bicep curl. Not 'heave with your lower back, front deltoids and momentum' curl.

Your biceps and triceps aren't big muscles. They don't require a lot of weight. Focus on the contraction and the stretch with each rep. Remember that its not about moving a weight from a to b, it's about mindfully contracting a muscle to move a weight from a to b!

I thought rows were for the back?

I learned, while in Boot Camp, that there is a distinct difference between "I cannot do any more because I think I cannot" and "I cannot do any more because I truly cannot do anymore." The latter is always quite a bit after the former.

Lol truuuuuueeee that brother. maybe 1% can say they truly emptied the tank after each workout

Sincerely, I really doubt you can put an exact measure on how much will certain parts of the body grow with the overall weight. There are just too many factors that can influence that - your genetics and workouts to begin with. So if you want to get bigger biceps, work on them more deliberately, but don't expect them to grow just because your overall weight increased.

Super legiiiiiiiit. All anonymous and shit. Or is that your real face?.... if so I apologize.....

If you do not mind posting it, what is your pull-up routine?

I go with weighted chin ups and close grip bench. My Tris make my arms huge, I can almost close grip bench as much as regular bench lol

If you do not mind posting it, what is your pull-up routine?

I tie 10 and 25 pounds to my waist and I hit 4-5 sets on pull days, alternating grips.

then during the rest of my workout I will go back and do a set unweighted using pauses

your biceps will be pumped like crazy after that

Take a cable row handle and toss it over one of the chin up pegs. Getcha grip even closer.

EAch bodypart is genetically defined as well as the body in general. Thats why all bodybuilders have lagging bodyparts or stubborn bodyparts that need more attention than others. Or one side a little different than the other side etc

The 15lbs per inch thing is bullshit because arnolds arms were well over 21 inches and he was around 250lbs. And as for making your biceps grow, the key is to train every part of the bicep:the long head, short head, and the brachailli. There are many exercises to do this and people really mess up at this part. Some people only do barbell curls, standing dumbbell curls, and cable curls but they fail to realize that each one of those exercises is basically hitting the biceps from the same angle. What you need to do for this and every muscle is to hit it from every angle and maximize the most growth. This is what i do:
Barbell Curl:3x6-8 (Hits both heads of bicep)
One Arm Curl:2x8-10 ( Do this bent over and will hit the head responsible for peak)
Cross Cable Curl:3x8-10 (Same as above but instead do it like youre hitting a front double bicep pose, hits long head from different angle)
Reverse Cable Curl:2x8-10 (will develope brachialli and forearms)

Whenever i go too heavy i see almost no results in my arm growth. I use a moderate amount of weight with a lot of time under tension.

Depends entirely on genetics, theres no set amout of size to weight gains lol

train them reall fucking hard - focusing on time under tension and completing a full range of motion really helped mine grow

My arms are also the last thing to get big. My shoulders and chest get big quick. But it take a long time to develop my arms. I think mine has a lot to do with genetics.

You just have to train harder and make sure you give the biceps a day to rest and heal up.

Pull-ups. Lots and lots of pull-ups. Works for me anyways. Could also work bis with back and hit them again later in the week.

Any one suggest what is good for biceps....

Pull-ups and barbell curls. When I first started working out, I didn't really do direct bicep exercises. I just did lots of pull-ups and rows and worked them indirectly. Throw some bicep work in at the end of your back workouts and hit them full blast another day. Negatives, rest-pause, drop sets. Give them no other option but to grow.

Superset Bi's and Tri's . Do Bis then immediately do tris. Then take a two to three min break in between sets. Keep your overall set total at around 20 so you don't over train cause its pretty intense having both muscles pumped at on time.

Yea masterbating after arm workouts goes a head and kills them out. Plus if there already wore out it feels like some one else giving you a hand job
