Carb load timing?!

So I'm currently trying a carb back-loading diet. Question: is it okay to wait until after weight training AND 30 mins of HITT cardio to introduce dextrose or is better to intake the dextrose between the two?

I'm currently taking it after weights and cardio...

I would say that there is no need to hit the carbs in between - in any case, it won't give them time to work so rapidly. So just get loaded with carbs after both parts of the workout.

unless you are injecting insulin there is no such thing as a 'window' where you need to get in carbs.

this is just a silly bro science myth that was started by supplement companies to sell these powders + trying to copy bodybuilders who use insulin.

@stevesmi

Saying there's no "window" for carb intake is like saying there's no window for anything you put into your body.... Protein, supplements, AAS, Food, or anything else.

You create an insulin spike by consuming high GI carbs after you do an intense workout, but you need to remove carbs throughout the day until this time.

@levbutlerov
Yea, that is my conclusion too. I will continue to follow my current regimen.

Consume the carbohydrates (dextrose) after you have finished both your weight training and HIIT.

The purpose of the HIIT is to initiate a fat loss response. Spiking your insulin levels with a huge influx of sugar (dextrose) before your HIIT will negate any possible fat loss that will occur. The whole point of doing HIIT after your weight training session is that after your weight workout, your muscle glycogen levels will be depleted and your body will need to oxidize adipose tissue to use as a fuel source for the cardio.

Taking n2slin from n2bm.com with your post workout dextrose would be a great idea. N2slin is a strong nutrient partitioner and will increase the insulin sensitivity of your muscle cells.

@muskate

Thats the reassurance and answer I needed! Thank you!

I was researching nutrient partitioners last night and they should only aid in what I'm trying to do. I'll add one in my regimen soon.

Agreed.

And yes it does matter what time your going to take them insulin or not.
