My bloodwork

Good work on bloods

@IdkBruh reviewed your bloods thanks for posting pics bro

Bloods
Your testosterone is 489 thats pretty high bro, not super high but high enough and shbg is low enough that you likely have high test too
which we see right there high enough
your lh fsh a bit low IMO but prolactin on point
strange you have like 0 progesterone

finally we come to DHT its in good range at 27 if you ask me

Thoughts
I reviewed your original thoughts on how you wanted to get hair issue resolved and your goals.
I'd like to know, what are your goals here?
I think if you added testosterone you would get more hair but less hair not likely here.
Oh really? That's considered high testosterone? Interesting, that’s good news. I was thinking 600 is average for my age.

And yeah it’s also good that prolactin is low, I was definitely expecting that to be higher since my nipples are sort of puffy. So I suppose the puffy nipples are just genetic or just from a lack of consistent weight lifting and not an actual symptom of something being wrong.

Is almost 0 progesterone a bad thing?

And is there anything that could theoretically be done about the low LH and FSH. I know it’s not that bad but I wonder if my test levels would actually be even higher with improved LH.

So if I don’t have any major issues, then now I’m just wondering what is prohibiting facial hair growth because I highly doubt I don’t have the genes for it. Perhaps I really do just have to wait for it to come in, but that just makes me wonder what it is that really causes hair to come in them. From all the research I’ve done, there really shouldn’t be anything else prohibiting growth as long as I have the hair follicles already in my skin due to genetics which I’m fairly confident I do have. The only thing I can think of is poor blood flow or vascularisation in that area or something, or it could mean poor androgen receptor sensitivity or density.

I will think about going on testosterone, however, that comes with its own potential side effects. Realistically I probably won’t try it for another couple of years while I continue to see if there’s any natural progress in terms of facial hair.

Do you also perchance know of any way to stop being allergic to minoxidil? I wish I could keep trying it but the entire reason I wanted to try DHT was because I became allergic to minoxidil a few months into using it on my face. And in the short amount of time I used it I think I actually was starting to see some good results. However it needs to be used for at least a year in order to get maximum benefit.

@IdkBruh actually I think your testosterone is low, personally my view.
Also why do you doubt that hair growth is genetic? it very much is genetic :D just look at hairy vs non hairy guys natty.

My suggestion, if you want more hair, get more testosterone into your body with TRT.

I never said hair growth isn’t genetic. However while there is a big genetic component, it is also very often reliant on other factors. I’m pretty sure I’ve said this multiple times by now. There’s a reason why products like minoxidil work for many people. And like I’ve also said, I’m very dubious that I don’t have the genes for it because every male family member I have can grow at least a decent beard. Also, since the last time I’ve posted here, I’ve noticed a few hairs sprout out here and there naturally. I don’t think my problem is genetic, I’m just frustrated at how damn slow it’s filling in. I don’t want to wait until I’m like 40 to be able to grow an acceptable beard.

What do you think would be a more acceptable natural level of testosterone for someone like me? I’ve been starting back up my work out routine recently so I’m hoping that will raise test a bit. Also, do you think factors like masturbating have any effect?

Also, I’ll ask this question again, do you by any chance know of anything that can help to stop an allergic reaction to minoxidil (or just in general)?
