Question on fish oil

How much is 3-6g of fish oil?
Do I buy any high strength fish oil.

What do I look for in omega 3 eg. 530mg EPA and 90mg DHA etc..
 
I have two oils that I use. Udo's 3-6-9 blend, and Carlson Fish Oil w/lemon. A tablespoonful a couple times a day! When I finish one bottle I switch to the other.

As a simple cheap one I just use the nature made fish oil. It was on sale and I got buy 2 get 2 free. Depending on needs I may take 4 caps a day split out with meals but each serving has 600mg omega 3
500mg of that is dha and epa. It's not a bad product. And I think you can get it just about anywhere.
 
I take a super maximum strength fish oil with vitamin d mixed it. The dose is 600 mg of EPA and 300 mg of DHA omega fatty acids. The vitamin d addition makes the dose very calming and makes me a little more positive throughout my day.
I just take one that's all that prescribed.
 
The exact amount of fish oil per cap will greatly depend on the producer. For instance, the brand of fish oil I am using requires me to take 6 caps per day.
 
Look for the amount of EPA and DHA contained per pill. You want to see at least 120mg DHA and 180mg EPA per pill. Take 6 pills per day. Ideally 2 with breakfast, 2 with lunch and 2 with dinner.

If you are using krill from n2bm.com - take 6 pills per day with meals.

I have 1000mg caps.

Each

Vitamin A = 800 mcg
Vitamin D = 5 mcg

EPA + DHA
(Total omega-3 Fatty Acids = 210mg)

Muskate do I need 3 a day???
 
If you are in the US, you can take Lovaza. You have to get a prescription from your doctor for it but it is pure omega 3. A lot of over the counter have omega 6s which we get in our diet and lead to more inflammation in the body. For what it is worth!

I take 3 pills a day and I can tell a difference. Just another thought
 
The recent studies published in ************ said that you should aim to have 2,000mg of DHA and 400mg of EPA. So I would look for a O3 fish oil supplement that is high on DHA and EPA. Check out the top 10 of https://labdoor.com/rankings/fish-oil. As you can see with the 1st position supplement, it has 1,146mg of O3 which has 642mgEPA and 397mgDHA. Don't worry about taking more EPA than DHA because a diet high in O6 (as the vast majority of people do) will inhibit some of that EPA incorporation. I hope that was useful. That krill supplement of N2BM doesn't show its content, so unless someone posts its nutritional value, I would choose one of those listed in the top 10 ranking.
