I started using tumeric powder for post workout shakes and I have honestly felt a big difference in recovery! Its not that expensive and has so many healthy benefits!
 
it is actually not 'recovery' you are feeling.. it is anti inflammation from the curcumin. it also is a very strong anti oxidant

true recovery is going to happen from sleep and your body being able to utilize vitamins and minerals properly
 
Turmeric is great. You can increase it's bioavailability by cooking it.

Try adding the turmeric powder into your rice before putting on the rice cooker
