How can you tell if you are deficient in vitamin k?

I am a recovering alcoholic and I beat my liver pretty bad drinking, now I'm afraid I could have ran it to hard and my liver may start to go a lot quicker than it would had I not wasted several years of my life drinking.

You'll Bruise easily.
Your Blood will have trouble Clotting, your Gums may Bleed (not to be confused with Bad Dental Hygiene).
Women will have Extra Heavy Menstrual Cycles.

Tudca is probably the #1 best supplement at repairing your Liver, and I would add NAC to that for more complete coverage.
There's also some Foods that are Higher in Vit K, so you should be eating a Lot more of them.................... JP

~16 Vitamin K-Rich Foods

  • Kale – 547 micrograms per 1 cup, raw (684% RDA).

  • Spinach – 889 micrograms per 1 cup, cooked (1111% RDA).

  • Broccoli – 110 micrograms per 1/2 cup, cooked (138% RDA).

  • Dried Basil and Dried Sage– 34.3 micrograms per tablespoon (43% RDA).

  • Dried Thyme – 42.9 micrograms per tablespoon (54% RDA).

  • Brussel Sprouts – 109 micrograms per 1/2 cup, cooked (137% RDA).

  • Asparagas – 45.5 micrograms per 1/2 cup, cooked (57% RDA).
Some other vitamin-K rich foods are okra, beans, cabbage, collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, romaine lettuce, spring onions, and prunes.

@Jp is the man when it comes to nutrition!

Another possible symptom of being defficient on vitamin K, is the calcification on cartilage, but you must be very bad on vitamin K in order to get to such a point.

JP does it again!

Eat your greens basically lol .. They do make some solid Vit K supps also, but you should be eating a handful of those foods anyway

First, congratulations on being a recovering alcoholic. That is a huge accomplishment.

Getting adequate vitamin k intake through your diet is not hard. Supplement with a high quality multi-vitamin such as ruthless 3D from n2bm.com everyday and eat plenty of dark green vegetables.

Vitamin k is a fat soluble vitamin so make sure you are taking your multivitamin with a fat source. The easiest way would be to eat some whole eggs with spinach before bed. Dose your multivitamin with this meal.

Eat vegetables bro. Kale, and spinach contain the most vitamin K. So many vegetables are actually pretty rich in vitamin K. Never skimp on your fruits and vegetables. They literally preform miracles for your body. Stay healthy man!
