He has trained at the famous Venice Beach Gold's Gym out West, and also spent time on the East Coast at the Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym which is considered one of the most hardcore gyms in the United States. In this article, we will take a look at his brief history, training style, and steroid cycle.

Childhood

Jordan Janowitz Gym

Jordan grew up about 20 minutes from Detroit, Michigan, and was a big fan of basketball, with Michael Jordan being his hero. When he was in middle school and high school he was into track, basketball, and long-distance running.

One of the unique things about his childhood is he didn't even meet his father till he was 11 years old and he was raised by a single mother.

He wanted to become a veterinarian but realized he did not have the patience to go to that much schooling. Instead, he pursued a degree in criminal justice.

Early bodybuilding

Jordan admits when he first got into weight training he had no idea what he was doing. He would just watch pro bodybuilders online and try to copy their antics, which didn't get him as far as he needed to go.

At 21 years old, he decided he wanted to get more serious about bodybuilding because he wanted to improve his physique and was inspired by Ronnie Coleman. He had good results so that made him want to keep training harder and become even bigger/stronger. His ultimate goal was to go on stage and compete against his peers to embrace the challenge. He hired a guy named Carl Jackson who made him promise he would work hard at bodybuilding. They have been together ever since.

The Natural Michigan contest was his first ever competition and he won it outright. Right away, he started getting ready for his next competition which was the 2013 NPC Junior Nationals which he finished 2nd place.

The next year he competed at the 2014 IFBB North American Championships against some well-known names, including Erik Ramirez and Robert Irby, and he got 2nd in the Light Heavyweight category.

Over the next few years, he competed in about a dozen competitions, wtih his best finishes 3rd place at the 2015 North American Championships Light Heavyweight, and the 2016 USA Championships Light Heavyweight 4th place.

Turning Pro

Jordan Janowitz Training

Jordan competed at the NPC Amateur Olympia in 2018 and finished 3rd place in the Light Heavyweight class, then in 2020 he was 2nd at the NPC North American Championships heavyweight class.

His physique made quite a transformation as evidenced by his weight class, going from 210-215 pounds to pushing closer to 250 pounds. In 2021, he finally broke the barrier of amateur to professional by earning 2nd at the NPC Bodybuilding National Championships. Jordan was up to 257 pounds as seen in this video done in the summer of 2021.

It is unclear if this move to compete in heavier weight classes will help him do better or set him back. As of this writing in late 2021, he looks more cut down since the summer, so we will find out in 2022 more about him. We are confident he will continue to improve.

Jordan Janowitz

One more thing to note which is interesting, is he does currently have a full-time job as a corrections officer for a state prison. Hopefully, his bodybuilder endeavors will lead to endorsements so he can quit that job and focus on bodybuilding full time.

Social Media

Jason has a modest social media page with 30K followers. click here Instagram chanel.

On his Instagram, he has pictures of himself, mentions his family (4 children), and talks about his latest competitions. Having a smaller social media profile is beneficial because it allows him to interact with his fans and help others. In this squatting video he posted someone asked what the advantage of using heel weights is, and he responded because it helps target his quadriceps better. It is little tips like this that help others in their fitness journey and can grow his page the right way.

Training

Jordan Janowitz selfi

Jordan likes variation to his training and strives to change things up a lot. He will sometimes do a workout with 20 reps or sometimes do only 6 reps. One of the reasons he varies his training is if he thinks his body needs a breather he will do higher reps with less weight, but if he feels like it's time to hammer his body and get stronger he will do lower reps and go super heavy. For the most part, he follows the Ronnie Coleman style of heavyweight training.

Another thing to note is he loves free weights vs. machines. This is why he trains at the most hardcore gyms he can find across the country and refuses to train at smaller gyms that don't offer squat racks for example.

He also likes to finish off his workouts with isolation lifts to exhaust anything remaining of his muscle.

An example of his training might look like this:

  • day 1 Back/Biceps
  • day 2 Shoulders
  • Day 3 legs
  • Day 4 Chest and triceps
  • Day 5 Abs and arms
  • Day 6 Cardio

Here is the style of a gym he likes to train at click here Instagram chanel.

Nutrition

Nutrition

Jordan incorporates between 4 and 7 meals per day including snacks.

He will eat more cheat meals during the offseason when bulking, but in-season his diet is extremely strict.

His strict diet includes eggs, chicken, broccoli, yogurt, nuts, peanut butter, steak, rice, and whey.

His favorite cheat meals include donuts and cheeseburgers.

Opinion

Jordan seems like a humble guy right now and I hope that does not change. He likes to train hard and his role models have instilled a hard-charging principle of training which I respect. Check him out training here

Another cool thing I like about him is he seems to be completely in love with his wife and thanks her in some of his videos for supporting him and taking care of his family. I hope Jordan can be a positive influence on many guys in the future and stay humble and modest.

Steroid Cycle

Steroid Cycle

Being a corrections officer, it isn't a wise choice to discuss steroid use, but the truth is many of them use steroids. Here is a steroid cycle he would have used to bulk up in the summer of 2021, to get close to 260 pounds, while in the offseason.
