Happy Australia Day everyone! Just thought I'd stop in and introduce myself. 49 yrs old and found this great forum last week, really have been enjoying this thread over the last 2-3 days.
Over the last few years like a lot of middle aged fellas I have put on some weight (about 20kegs extra in my case). The last 12 months has seen me become more tired, waning sex drive, and worst of all my sleep is terrible. I've also lost muscle mass. I was drinking excessively and overeating. Life wasn't always like this, and 15 years ago I was taking SARMs and HGH and in the gym every second day training and eating well with a physique to show for it. My BP was 160/90, my cholesterol a mess, and I couldn't run 10 metres.
So, recently Ive decided to do something about my health. I no-longer drink, I eat a calories restricted diet, plenty of fruit and veg and legumes and fish/nuts/seeds, and I am walking 90 minutes briskly each and every day without exception. My aim is to lose 23 kilos (already lost 6), get to a BMI of 22.5 and then set new goals for building a physique. I'm in for the long haul.
Phase 1. Lose 23 kgs this year, normalise BP and all body measurements/chemistry.
Phase 2. Begin my own TRT (thinking Test E 100-125/week. Stabilize levels.
Phase 3. Build a middle aged physique to be broad of (maybe run 2 cycles a year of Deca/Test at medium dosages).
Phase 4 Maintain mass and keep healthy.
I originally looked into TRT, but it's become so difficult to find a doctor who knows what they are talking about (I would regular prefer injectables over creams etc) that it really does force the issue underground. Self education regarding bloodwork, risks and suppliers so important.
Thanks so much for the info re medical.com, that has solved one of my biggest hurdles. The rest I will find out as I go.
For now, one day at a time until I lose my weight. I am feeling more energy already (although sleep and libido yet to bounce back), BP down to 140. Might look into a CPAP machine at some stage as I know I snore.
Anyway, that's me.
