Can eating too much Wheat be a Factor in causing Visceral Abdominal Fat, Acne, Joint Problems, and Arthritis.
IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), and Acid Reflux, Cravings, Addictive behaviors, increase overall Calorie Consumption, Diabetes, Heart Disease
Accelerated Aging, and Autoimmune Diseases, Lets have a look.

Unfortunately, it's way too much for me to Type, so at your Reading Leisure, please check this out.
Quite a few People have Wheat Related Problems, and have no Clue, that it's the Wheat causing it................................JP

P.S.
Those of you who know me, know that I had to go Gluten Free, about 5 years ago.
Best thing that ever happened to me, in Retrospect !!!

Good post bro. I was at my best physical conditioning when rolling paleo. Beat diet for fighters IMHO.

I just love my multi grain sourdough toast in the morning !

Caaannn Uuuu Diigg It ?
Well, there is a Very Small Segment of the Population, that can handle Wheat.
It all goes back to Monsanto (Big Chem Co).
They have been Modifying our Food, big time since the Early 60's, all to try to get Larger Crop Yields.
While I have nothing against that, let's just not Kill the Planet and All the People in the Process.....................................JP
P.S.
Once a Food is Modified, it takes the Human Body, anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 Years to Adjust to it.
Gluten, being only Introduced to Human's in the 1960's, has a way to go, until we All can Handle and Digest it.
P.S.S.
As for me, I had to Stop eating All Gluten, because it was effecting my Arthritis.
Yeah, try telling an Italian, you can no longer eat any Foods with Gluten.
That's like saying, Sorry, we're taking the Air that you Breathe away, Deal with it.

you want whole grain, not multi grain. multi grain just means it contains atleast 1 grain. so it could have 1 grain and 6 of whatever .. so really its just as bad as white bread.

most breads sold are just processed sugar anyway.. do people even read the ingredients? if it can sit on the shelf for a week and says whole wheat or whole grain people think its good for them.. ummmm.. no. if its legit bread from a local baker you are lucky if it sits for a couple days before going bad. only way it will last is if you freeze it.

walmart for example puts lard in their bread. look at all the fat people at walmart buying that lard bread and they wonder why they have a lard stomach. another ingredient is soybean oil and hydrogenated oils. (soybean oil sounds good for you because it has soy which is a plant, but soybean oil is actually hydrogenated.. how else do you expect product not to go bad?)

people are so fucking ignorant on this shit

Anyone eat that "protein bread"? It's friggin expensive but I'd be interested to see how it tastes as my diet lately has included 3-4 large cans of tuna/day and I'd sure like to be able to eat it in sandwich form btw my wife introduced my family to "clean eating" a while back now and we look like different people it's definitely been life changing

Ezekiel bread is the way to go

yes because it is kept frozen, not on the shelf.. every bread you see in the store on the shelf should be avoided. its all poison. to sit on the shelf and not go bad would require tons of preservatives and fillers. basically its not really bread, its just something that tastes like bread and looks like bread

never heard of it. you have a link? I would like to take a look at the ingredients. it sounds like a gimmick.

Search p28 bro - I'd rather just get my protein from meat and other whole foods.

For those of you still eating bread check out Ezekiel brand products - they have wraps, pitas, English muffins, and normal loafs.. Made from sprouted grains and gluten free.. Great complex carb.

I go through 1 to 2 loafs of the 7 grain, in a wk and 1 loaf of cinnamon raisin ever 2 wks....its EPIC

.

their 'blend' contains soybean oil which is a hydrogenated preservative so their claims about being natural are BS. of course they have to have that in there or the stuff will go bad. but that is dishonest claiming its all natural when it isn't

This should be obvious to people but then again yes, we can be ignorant, complacent and sometimes forgetful. If it can sit out for a week or more its not just bread your eating. Thankfully where I live we have a lot of healthy grocery's and lots of initiatives to educate the public about simple things like don't eat foods chalked full of filler.

Very nice article bro, so many people are miss informed that all these "healthy foods" are suppose to be good for you! Thanks for the truth brotha

Agreed. Good post. And I've already stated how I'll never be caught alive in wal mart. As for Jp's thread, I have to agree, something's wrong with the typical diet. My grandparent (long passed), lived through the Great Depression. They were quite poor, but lived in a rural area where they lived out of their gardens, and the occasional deer, plus fish they caught. What's funny, if you will, is the fact that they were lean, healthy, and strong. Conversely, the wealthy had the money to "bring home the bacon," and yes, they were the same group who were somewhat overweight, and unhealthy. Moreover, the wealthy during the depression were the same people to get diabetes, heart disease, and of course, cancers. My Gramdfather drank, smoked, and even chewed tobacco. He lived to 86. My Grandmother smoked for 50+ years, and lived to 84. The thing I'll note about them is they basically kept the exact same diet they were so accustomed to during the depression, throughout their lives... Hmmmm...

Agreed here also. My grandparents mentioned above, ate home made breads where the ingredients came from what they grew. I'll note, the bread didn't last long sitting out. There's something to be said for today's store bought bread that lasts for weeks,,and it isn't a good thing.

Very informative post and yep omce I avoided wheat my acid reflux, joint pain and stomach bloat became non existent.

It's Funny you mention the Great Depression.
My Father used to tell me Stories all the time about it.
But you're 100% Correct, my Mother made her own Bread and Pasta, Canned the Tomatoes for Sauce.
Pickled Peppers, Cucumbers, you name it.
We had Everything that we needed Stored in a Cold Cellar (Freddo Cantina)............................................JP
P.S.
I was in Grade School during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and used to tell my Classmates, If the Bomb Drops, come over my House, we've Plenty of Food.
Funny, the things you remember.

There is a small documentary out there called the perfect human diet and it gives "scientific advice" as to why we should not include alot of whole wheats...not sure how much I agree with it but it's interesting non the less.

My God! There must be some kind of relation here! Yes, the basement had shelves after shelves of canned tomatoes, sauces, peppers of every sort, green beans, even dill pickles, etc., And her hand rolled pastas... Oh just wow!!! I can literally taste it, and smell it. And that's being able to smell this beautiful food over heavy cigarette smoke. Lol! I have her hand-written recipes in plastic sleeves, and hanging inside my pantry. Her writing is hard to read, but I figured it out, and am stunned how clean this cooking was. I carry on the tradition today.
And for a laugh, we mentioned going to Amish country in another thread. When my Grandparents put us in their station wagon lol, for a 5hr trip, we'd go to the back of the wagon (seat belts? What were those? Lol!), and even in the back of a ford Torino wagon, the cigarette smoke would have me spinning by the second hour of the trip. Different times those were, but I wouldn't trade the experience.

That's the way all those people that went through the Depression lived, and even before that.
I know my Grandmother's House always had Fresh Prosciutto and Sausage in the Basement Hanging to Cure.
Plus there was Wine in the Cask, and then the Vinegar Barrel would have all the Baby Vegetable's in it (Giardinara).
Plus they would always have Freshly made Cakes soaked in Honey, I don't remember all the Names, just too many.

My Father Smoked "Chesterfields" (Coffin Nails), Christ, do they still make them...................................JP
P.S.
We've lost so much, as the Generations have come and gone.

I'm one of the rare who took what my Grandparents did (minus he smoking lol), and applied it to today. And damn, I'm now hungry again after imagining some REAL Italian sausages with warm home made bread dipped in olive oil! Time for some fish, and mixed vegetables now:( lol

There's a few people that have written on the Topic.
The Basic Premise is that 10,000 years ago, and even as close as 5,000 years (when we started farming).
We were Hunter/Gatherers and we either Killed it, if it had a Face, or we dug it out of the Ground, or Pulled it off the Trees and Bushes.

Archaeologist, that look at Mummies can tell who were Hunter/Gatherers (Taller, leaner, good teeth, no Bone disease), Lived longer
As apposed to the Farmers (shorter, fatter, bad teeth, early signs of Osteoporosis), didn't live past 25 or 30 years..................................JP

so farmers ate what vs. hunter/gatherers in general?

I know that polygamist societies in Africa were stronger than hunter/gatherers of Europe and asia because of their lifestyle of the strongest man getting the women, vs. the hunter/gatherers who the female picked the man better able to take care of the family.

but I wasn't aware about the diet thing, I always thought it was more based on WHERE they lived, not all parts of the world are farmable for example

Gonna need some source quoting there...

Humans are incredibly adaptive and can thrive in many different environments. There is no "one standard way" to eat that is good for everyone, with all other ways being "bad". Inuits live on practically meat alone and are fine, while there are tribes in the Andes that are vegetarian and live on grains and cereals without issue. Yet other tribes stick to insects and vegetables...

What we humans have not yet adapted to is the sheer amount of sugar that we can now consume. We seem to be able to process it in small doses but at our current level of consumption it is toxic to us.

^^^ I would say there are things worse than sugar

high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, and preservatives are making us fat.

sugar is bad in high doses of course, but I am a big believer in restoring glycogen levels after exercise, its been my secret weapon for why I have become successful in fitness. now if you don't exercise then you have no business messing around with sugar ie. having 3 donuts for breakfast.

Agreed! The only "sugar" I take in these days is through local honey I'll buy. I also agree on the preservatives. One odd example is store bought steak. It lasts in the fridge for a good while vs the stuff I buy from a local farm that turns brown after two days in the fridge. Yes, we're eating ourselves into the coffin. Well, America is. Not me...

You mentioning Steak, I'm thinking about a Nice Aged Steak from Ruth Chris Steakhouse.

There seems to be no conclusive evidence that paleo man lived longer and healthier than agricultural man. The closest I found in some of these entries was this:

" Evidence for the effect of the switch to agriculture on general life expectancy is mixed, with some populations exhibiting an apparent decrease in life expectancy and others an apparent increase.[170]"

I am not saying that paleo is not a good way to eat!!! Quite the opposite - it has been found to be beneficial for people who suffer from Type II diabetes and metabolic syndrome. I'm just saying that we should not romanticize the idea of paleo man being the only template for health and well being. There are plenty of other healthy societies to model eating patterns after.

I hate to judge anyone , but I serve room service in a hotel , and we are an odd few , because I serve Mac n cheese and bergers and club sandwiches and all types of other full dinners and deserts to people of the worst shape and look unhealthy , at 9 , 10 , 11 o'clock at night with sodas and brownies .

Man these poor people . I know there hungry , I'm hungry ! But does your health matter ? Overweight , out of shape , young , old , middle aged . Every night 100's of people a week . I have to say that I feel that I am , we are more then a step ahead of them in the healthy department . Hopefully it pays off and I live a longer life with no severe health problems , and if I don't , shit , at least I look good :)

Good read.

About 10 years ago I had a buddy that came here from a tiny European country. He came here a lean 205 lbs, and within a year and a half he had a pot belly. He said nothing changed in the way that he ate, except back home you couldn't buy bread in bags at the store like here and their cuts of meat were much leaner.

He swore it was the processed breads doing it to him and he dropped all store bought breads and only bought local meats and he leaned right back out. That was really eye opening to me on the crap that they put in our foods.

I have an uncle who works for a bread company and he doesn't even eat his own products because he knows how they are made

my thing is if everyone ate healthy then we would run out of healthy food and it would be way more expensive. so I say let em enjoy their processed junk and I will stick to real food.

I do my best to grow and catch as much food as possible.. the rest I get organic and hormone free. I can eat as much as I want and I never get fat eating whole foods, its amazing.

large supermarket chains will pack their meats with gasses to preserve them and make them look good. and then with turkey especially they will inject with salt again to preserve them. its all about keeping them on the shelf longer so they sell.. its a business.

the problem is OVERPOPULATION and its getting worse. I love todays advances in medicine and technology.. and yes modern plumbing is nice not having to shit into a hole.. but man, I would of loved to live in a time where you could buy fresh food/produce on the side of the road, people these days have no clue what fresh food tastes like. anyone who has never eaten something fresh off a tree or fresh fish caught the same day and cleaned has no clue.. let them keep shopping at walmart and thinking that food tastes good

Don't you love just how much the government knows what's "good" for us? :( No, I don't want any genetically modified garbage! My Grandparents would flip out sideways! I'm actually thinking about growing my own corn, and need to start looking for some REAL seeds. Of course, I want to grow my own tomatoes as well.

I grow my own oranges and lemons here in FL. I also buy produce right off the highway from local farmers all the time. I've not bought a single vegetable from a grocery store in two years. Sadly, I do but at Costco, and Sams, my mixed frozen vegetables when cutting, and I KNOW these are pure bad. I know EXACLTY what you mean about being able to step back in time to a place where food was real food. I also would like to step back in time for that reason, as well as being able to see what it was like for men to be men, and women being women. Another story for another day...

Good post brother. I have heard of this lately myself on wheat.
Question: On days I want too make a sandwich with lean turkey or chicken, is there a flat bread or what not you guys use.

That's a good Question.
You want to look for something that's Gluten Free.
I will eat Trader Joe's Organic Spelt bread.
Spelt is the Ancient Wheat, before they Hybridized it in the 60's, it had no Gluten then.
Another good choice is Ezekiel Bread - any variety - it's Sprouted Grain so it has no Gluten either.
Or any other Sprouted Grain.......................................JP
P.S.
Google in your Area for a Gluten Free Bakery, there's a few in my area.
They use Teff, Amaranth, Sorgum, Buckwheat, Quinoa.
P.S.S.
Don't get any Bread made from Brown Rice and Tapioca, extremely high in Carbs, and taste like Cardboard.
P.S.S.S.
The best Bread I've found are made from Spelt, Teff, Amaranth, and 100% Quinoa.
I said 100% Quinoa, because in the Grocery Store you will see Quinoa Bread, but it's mixed with Wheat, no good.

Highly doubtful unless it's GMO or you have the gluten allergy or allergic to pesticide etc. there's not a chance in hell that wheat is harmful to a person. JMO

You Completely Missed the Whole Point of this Article.
All the Wheat out there is GMO, and has been since the 60's. It was developed to Feed The World, because of Higher Yields.
It's a Dwarf Hybrid of the Original Ancient Wheat.
It's Total Shit for most of the Population................................................JP

GMO soy fed wistor rats completely lost ability to reproduce by 3rd generation. GMO is bad bad bad. We are the only nation that won't consider banning it because we invented the process. Germany recently banned it and countless others. All legit studies NOT done by govt. organizations point to major health problems.

Our corn grows weed killer inside of it for Christ sake and it can spread by cross pollinating and infecting neighboring crops. After that happens Monsanto tries to sue you for breaking patent laws.
And people wonder why our bodies are shutting down and no longer working properly as well as cancer rates skyrocketing and increasing every single year. It's no mystery by any means if people would ask the right questions.

Holy shitballs Stevesmi this is crazy. I've tried to cut bread-ish stuff from my diet. This may explain why so often I literally go apeshit wanting a sandwich, or even just toast with butter. I didn't realize some of this stuff was so "sneaky". I thought you either had an allergy to gluten, or you didn't. Thanks bro!

Not only does Monsanto sue people for patent infringement when birds/winds drop GMO seeds into their crops and cause cross-pollination, they have historically been extremely successful in doing so

There was a 14 year old girl that crushed one of the guys from shark tank in a debate about GM owes her point was that we needed to be notified whether or not something had GMO's.p

I saw that. A 14 year old could win that argument... Oh wait, a 14 year old did win that argument. That guy was a cock douche

Bread is the devil! I tend to stay away from all breads if I can.

But I can't lie, sometimes when bulking, I like a nice sandwich loaded with chicken and hot sauce! Lol

But other than that, I rarely eat bread.

Who was that fat ass who lost a bunch of weight eating subway sandwiches? I read somewhere he ran a marathon a few years back. I understand food intolerance; dairy for some, gluten for others. Now for us Spartans here interested in body comp we raise the bar much higher than average population. Chemical enhancement, yeah, I go there. Makes it difficult to knock a natty athlete munching on bread sticks at Olive Garden. My problem is I enjoy beer, but made a pack to run a mile for every 12 oz. brew the next morning. Worked golden based on the compliments I get for my physique.

Jared who owns subway franchises himself so I'm sure there isn't any bias from him.

he went from obese to just fat eating subway. good for him. not like he has some sort of beach body, amazing how stupid people are to fall for that shit. subway is no different than any sub shop or fast food. the ingredients in some ways are even worse actually.

I got some p28 protien breads. Stuff taste great. I eat bout 1 piece of bread or bagel a day and stay low carb rest of day. There products have added protien and less carbs than reg whole grain bread.

How am I just seeing this. Don't tell me this I love wheat bread. Well, when I actually have bread. Now I can't have wheat either. Ugh.

You most Certainly can have Wheat, "Spelt" is the Ancient Wheat, before they Hybridized it in the 60's, into the Dwarf Wheat, that has Gluten.
If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, they sell "Organic Spelt Bread", the taste is good...........................JP

Wow good info here.. Stay hitting the bakery

Ezekiel is safe too....right?

Ezekiel is safe too....right?
Of Course, it's Sprouted Grain, and Gluten Free.
The only Problem I have with Ezekiel Bread is I only eat the Cinnamon and Raisin.
The Regular is like eating Straw, and I was never really into that Taste.............................................JP
P.S.
If you can find it, the Spelt has an Excellent taste, and they also make Pasta with it.

Hell yes it is...the main culprit isn't necessarily the wheat itself, rather the new strains of wheat being grown today which have different glutens, different make up and one serving which spikes insulin more than 6 teaspoons of sugar...

Our Wheat was fine till the 60's, when we made the 1st Dwarf Wheat Species, in an Effort to Feed the World.
The Dwarf Wheat had a much Larger Crop Yield than the Original Ancient Variety.
Back then, we were Shipping Millions of Pounds of Wheat to Russia, and a couple of other places.
The U.S. was the Bread Basket of the World then, between our GMO Wheat and our GMO Corn.
No one knew the Long Term Effects of Eating this Stuff, people of the World were Hungry, and we were Fulfilling a Great Need............................JP

As usual we try and make something natural "better" without a full understanding of how what we change throws off the natural balance in the food and in our bodies.

Our understanding of how things work in harmony naturally is very poor...

Or if you take the sinister view, the FDA did know and chose to do it to help naturally make more people sick so they could sell more drugs starting at an early age. Funny how they continue to push whole grains and wheat when studies repeatedly show them to be pro inflammatory in many people

When you read enough about the FDA its hard not to think they are sinister. They have a long track record of allowing things in the food and water supply among other things, that have been shown to cause long term chronic health issues with constant consumption, which seemingly is done intentionally to sell more drugs to people who have health problems they shouldn't have. At the very least, its done in support of big business to the detrement of the consumers they are charged with protecting.

If it was a war, they would be tried before the UN for crimes against humanity, and I'm not joking.

It's on purpose. "Soft kill" weapons. Our big pharma loves to prescribe tons of slow kill weapons as well. And flouride doesn't just lower IQ, it causes cancer and other serious illness as well. 500 million total world population is the goal.

Damn!! How much more pain are you guys gonna heap on an Italian who's cutting for a show?? Lol! I sure could destroy a nice Italian sub right about now!

I wouldn't be caught dead in a subway. What a joke that garbage is! Even their bread comes in frozen pieces. And yes, their bread sucks. My Son wanted to go to subway recently, and I almost did a DNA test after hearing that kind of blasphemy! Lol! I took him to a mom and pop Italian joint, and we had a beautiful Italian sub dripping with real extra virgin olive oil, and seasonings. Yum!

I get called conspiracy theorist often, but I fought for this country for what I THOUGHT was freedom but turned out to be something else entirely. Once you see the way things are run from the inside of the machine it becomes quite clear the true face of American politics and business. Human life is completely invaluable to them, in fact they see themselves as the ultimate humanitarians ridding the world of the cancer that is the human race. Okay end rant lol. Glad there are some alert motherfuckers in here though.

Yes, that's why people need to take boron because it combines with fluoride and bromides in bread to create harmless compounds that can then be flushed out of the body.

And unfortunately it seems like all the world's governments are joined together to implement this...

I hate to admit it, but right now, I'd almost turn down Eva Mendes naked, and bent over for some penne, lasagna, and fresh garlic bread. Help!!!! Lol

I take nascent iodine every day to protect myself from all those: chlorine, flouride, bromine. Didn't know about boron though. Most countries probably do but there are still some who have banned it I think. Hard to believe so many would ban GMO and not flouride

I was referring to all the countries coming together to implement population control...

And yes, I also use Lugol's iodine as well

I've heard lugol's isn't nascent though right? Yeah it's the majority of nations. Only ones who resist our "democracy" are the ones we've all been told are evil and hate Americans like Chavez and Iceland. I'm sure we snuffed Chavez too. Same with Cuba.

Haven't started it yet, was planning on starting it with the aromasin Sunday...why, you having some sides? Supposed to be low incidence of sides, especially at that dose...
