Considering my issues I've had with pullups since the last few weeks etc with it hurting and I've been instead trying to ease back into it using the assist machine, do you guys think its worth me introducing "dead hangs" as a set which might help ease me back into it?

Fair to say while I have been still going to the gym the last few days I've had a cold since sunday :( and thus the sessions have sucked. Think I'm hopefully starting to come off the back of it now tho

I know where the cold came from, left my coat in my mates car figuring the retard wouldn't park so far away from where we went to play pool, not only did he walk us in the WRONG direction for 15minutes it was freezing cold in just my tshirt 30min walk in the end in it, unfucking believable tbh guy is a complete baffoon.

Had the plan of instead of doing deadhangs on pullup day, while I continue with assists on that day, every day I'll do a deadhang at home (I've a bar I can use to work on getting my overall time up (managed 20s earlier today) so I know its something I need to work on which I bet will help with pullups once I can hold it for a ridiculous amount of time

@Testytestysourcey wow. This is a teeny tiny amount of food. I would feel really weak and crabby if I ate just that. I see that you are trying to get lean, and please don’t take any offense, as I am not a nutritionist and we are coming from different places literally and figuratively. But to me, this doesn’t seem sustainable if you want to be muscular and healthy. The only actual food is porridge and a chicken breast☹️. The shakes sure do fill in the macros, I’ve used them, they do seem to work, but it’s just about the most processed “food” you can possibly get. Everything is stripped out of them. I much rather using shakes and powdered protein as a way to bump protein up above and beyond what you can get from your meals. What is the protein in porridge(I actually don’t really know what porridge is, hahaha, I never thought about it before)? What is the protein in the bread? Like, lots of things are protein, but maybe not what you really want. Gluten is protein. Idk what it would do for your goals though.

I would think you’d get better results from eating a lot of eggs and meat and of course, fruits, vegetables and rice and potatoes and such. But that’s just what I do. And I’m not huge or anything, but it is working for me pretty ok!

I rather like the idea of increasing muscle and strength to the point of NEEDING to eat more, rather than forcing a very small diet and trying to work out to maintain muscle. At least until you’re happy with the amount of muscle you have. I’ve been asked literally like hundreds of times how I stay so lean, for my whole life. And at first I was like “I have no idea”. But I think this scheme has a big part in it. High output, high calories, high metabolism.

Some things to think about. 🙂

Porridge is.... weird lol hard to describe other than it doesn't look appealing i.e it looks like a bowl of cat sick, but its pretty tasty lol it has around 10-15g of protein in it depending on the brand etc, the bread I had recently was protein bread which had 8g protein per slice, rice and potatoes is something I need to work on tbh, I don't think it helps I sit at a computer for work all day so don't really feel the "burn" per say etc, I don't perticularly feel hungry or drained or anything, before when I was aiming for 2800-3000 calories it was definitely hard work especially as someone who has never really pigged out per say, to be honest I'm kinda looking forward to trying to lean bulk but again I imagine most of that/least my attempting would be brought up with protein shakes. When I hear folks saying oh I eat 4000-5000 a day I'm kinda like... how I would have to be basically constantly eating all day to hit that lol!

It’s much easier if you eat calorie dense food. But yeah, it’s larger meals AND snacks. Once you get the appetite, when you’re building muscle, it goes down better. Instead of one or two eggs, you eat six. Instead of a half cup of rice, you eat two cups. But most of the time my major source of food was fatty red meat.

The desk job thing is tough. Maybe you can get some more activity in somehow? Just quick things like a set up pushups here, set of pull-ups there. Even walks.

I was just playing around with doing half pushup sets tbh, seems to be a classic debate of half or full rom but these half ones do give a nice pump and feel more fun to mess around with (I'd just done some before you said lol) lemmy show you what I ate today/more traditional day where the Mrs is home and wanting to cook actual food etc

I fast 16 hours and eat 4000+ cals from 10am-6pm in 4 meals. With meal prep it's easy and it's mind over matter... in that, if you don't mind it doesn't matter; you just prep what you have to eat and then eat it without having any feeling about it one way or the other.

See even with meal prep yikes 4k calories, I was literally forcing myself to eat to get upto 3k! Another 1k I'd be gippin!

We pay for ours in litres, right now for 1 single fucking litre of diesel it costs me £1.87.9 FYI there are 3.78541 litres in a gallon.... 🤬 1 gallon costs me £7.11278539/$9.63.

My EQ arrives tomorrow, what do you think to running 250mg a week? along with my 500 test? so 0.1ml a week basically (the vials are 250/ml) so 125 on each pin day would be nice and easy to workout with my test pin on mon/thurs etc.

I have been honestly contemplating taking 5mg a day, least probably thurs/fri/sat/sun, though not like the Mrs actually ever wants it unless its once every 1-3months for her to realise she needs to put up with "maintenance".

Figured I would give you all a bit of an update since I've been lazy/lax to update it, still roughly running the similar levels as I was gym wise (since I've been cutting)
Had to work alot on my pull day this week so a bit of a useless quick session honestly

I am still on 500mg Test/wk and also 250mg EQ/wk, I've restarted Anavar at 40mg ED, Retatrutide at 2mg a week, Currently still doing my cut with the aim of recomp till I can roughly see my abs which I imagine is another 20-30 pounds from this point. I was at 100.4kg when I started Reta on the 30/03/2026, am now at currently 86.2kg (as of today 17/05/26), planning on probably keeping on Reta for as long as I can run to be honest, from my last order from PSL, I'll run the EQ till its gone (haven't done the total weeks math) and same the Test that I've got, to be honest I kinda figured I'd drop to 300 test once the EQ is done then run that till its gone, not sure if it would last until my holiday in Feb 2027 mind you but I guess that'd be a good time either way to run PCT if I haven't by then!

I will do this then, means towards christmas I should be able to order from us-pharmacies, I did actually order some viagra/cialis from them before so hopefully their gear is good as well!
you have legit test I hope we can start there :D
