Looking for some tips on a first cycle, I was looking into anavar and was wondering if I could get away with an anavar only cycle without shutting down my test, or would a sarm like rad140 be more effective, just looking for a “light” cycle to see how it feels being on gear.

Anavar only is not good, not really a fan of the sarms either, both will mess with your hormones, if your going to do it, do it properly - how old are you?
 
I’m currently 18 and haven’t done extensive research; I’m seeking general advice on whether the positives outweigh the negatives, or vice versa. I messed around with mk677 at 17 and didn't receive any side effects, although I know that orals are a lot stronger on the androgenic system.

At 18 brother you dont need any of that, you need calories and heavy training, sorry but I cannot guide an 18 year old to do a cycle, especially not a poorly planned oral only.

Please listen to this, you are in the prime part of your life, putting any external hormones into your system will mess you and your development up for life.

Lock in, eat, lift and youll be suprised the progress you can make, plentyyyy of time for this later in life.
 
Thanks for the advice, brother! Realistically, what do you think is a good time to even start considering PEDs? Also, are there any other solid supplements like creatine you’d recommend to help with training? I really appreciate you looking out for my wellbeing.

At least wait until your brain has biologically and neurologically developed brother.. 18 is not that stage yet.

Learn to eat and train properly first, capitalise on your natural test levels right now.
Dont fuck the dog with your health because your chasing quick gains and shortcuts that dont last.

Start a log and lets help you dial in as a natural properly first young brother.

Prioritise your health always.

It's a boring answer, but it's the right one. Making sure you are absolutely sound in knowledge and practice when it comes to nutrition and training will;

1) Ensure you're getting the most out of your natural production
2) Set the foundations for an extremely successful first cycle, when the time is right.
