IDK which section I can put this is. Having a discussion with a personal trainer..the handheld skin fold ones..would your bf measurements be more or less after a workout. So say you were 10% before a lift would it be higher 11%? After a lift or the same?

The body fat measurement you obtain from callipers would be no different if you took the measurement before or after working out. They will give you a very crude estimate of your body fat that can be +/- 4%

The best body fat measurement method is a DEXA scan (dual energy X-ray analysis). It'll tell you what body fat percentage you have, as well as what your body is made of (how much muscle, bone, water etc.). You most likely would need to go to a University to get it done however.

Callipers are a decent at home way to test body fat. The main thing is to be consistent with how you use them. You may not have the exact body fat % but you will be able to tell if you are going up or down.

Calipers are a very good way of getting a rather precise estimate of the BF% you have, but I would not expect them to give absolutely precise measurements. However, who needs such precise measurements, as +/- 1%? As long as you get an overall idea, it should be good enough.
