Athletes Selling an Easy Solution

Instagram: A place where athletes share photos of themselves with supplements claiming this is how they got fit. In turn every person who doesn't understand what it takes to get fit buys this "one stop solution". Half the people you see pushing Shredz for example didn't get that way by taking off the shelf supplements. They've spent hours in the gym and guaranteed they have a number of cycles under their belts.

It sells false hope to these people who need to be educated on what it really takes to become fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Let alone why don't these athletes share how they really got the way they did, education is what the rest of the population needs to become healthy. Granted gear usage would get a little flack but hey if it works it works! Rant over :)

Look at any magazine headline:

Ripped in 8 weeks

6 minute abs

Miracle green coffee bean extract fat loss pill

…no one wants to work for anything anymore

I totally agree... And I don't understand how these obvious gear users are allowed to endorse products that are giving kids false hopes. Oh that's right, someone is getting paid to allow it to happen.

That's human nature - I want it all, and I want it now. So it is quite logicall that people use that in order to sell their products, because they know that it is in the human nature to search for the easy solutions.

gotta love capitalism

it is acceptable to lie to make a buck, just go to a use car lot and sit back and enjoy .. my favorite line is the "we aren't here to make money, we are here for the customer" or something like that. yeah okay. the more you fuck the customer the more ends up in your pocket genius. don't tell me otherwise.

Every well known bodybuilder does it. Ronnie, Jay, Phil, Flex, etc lol. They all have their own brands of powders and vitamins. They all claim the same thing. It's only to make money.

Love instagram, and wouldn't mind being one of those fitness millionaires myself. That being said, yea, it's obvious they're not natty atheletes. Gotta get the real supps too. :p

It the end of the day it's all about a dollar. People gotta get paid and families have to eat.

This applies to like every 'mass-gaining' and weight loss supplement ever. The dudes have done multiple cycles and generally are stacking. I forget his name, but one fitness guy who was sponsored spoke out saying that if you thought all he was taking was the product and then got fired. He later revealed that he was on androgens and hgh.

When I was a teen I would see all these guys on magazine pushing over the counter products and I believed it. But as I got older I learned so much more of what is really going on with steroid use, So I think it's up to the person wanting to look good to do his/or her research and learn as much as they can to get where they want.

Christian Boeving got fired from muscletech for talking about steroids in bigger faster stronger. These companies obviously can't sell the real deal so they create the illusion that their supplements can come close. They can't have their fitness models admitting it takes a little more than creatine and protein to look like that.

A crazy thing I learned is that when a lot of supplement companies do these "studies" that conclude that the users gained 'x' lbs of muscle, they spike their creatine or whatever supplement they were selling with actual orals. The actual group that does the study doesn't bother testing the supplement because it's expensive and they assume that it has all the ingredients. Companies have been busted multiple times doing this.

It's just sad that the majority of the population falls for these schemes. People quit after not seeing results in less than 6 wks. It totally needs to come down to education - obesity is a legit problem in the health care system. Which could largely be solved on the proper education of health and fitness, which should be started at a young age. It is currently mostly on parents to educate their children on this matter however what about those children who are born into families who don't care about health and fitness? How are they supposed to learn? I legit think lifestyle and health and fitness should be added into the curriculum throughout the school program. This is a far more useful skill than half the stuff I was taught.
