Baking soda

I have read something recently in a fitness magazine, on baking soda. It was saying supplementing baking soda can help with the onset of lactic acid. Does anyone know more about it or supplements it currently?

ah the whole 'lactic acid' fiasco .. this still gets bantered in gyms usually by some 19 year old bird chested guy trying to be smart or those perma bulkers walking around with a belt with their chest puffed out

lactic acid develops during your set, it is that burning feeling you notice. reducing lactic acid is completely counter productive. so don't listen to any dumb magazine trying to scare you.. all those magazines parrot the same cookie cutter crap and bs cherry picked studies

Doesn't work. Yes baking soda is a base and bases neutralize acids...but if you consume the baking soda orally it'll be neutralized by the strong acid of your stomach and never actually reach your muscles.

In theory it works. In real world application, it does not.
