Blood Pressure Roll Call

Blood pressure is a funny thing. I know diet plays a big part and so do our workouts. But holy shit, I didn't realize until recently that stress, plays a huge roll. The crap we deal with day to day (family, wife, work, friends, hobbies, bills,................) so many damn variables that we just dismiss as day to day. Now unless something has changed in your health, eating habits, medicine, vitamins, stress could be a a huge factor. Was for me.

By the way, mine runs around the same 130/80 unless somethings going on. About 4 months ago, the Doc made me lay down for about 20 min to recheck. It was all good at that point. Actually 120/ 70something.
 
Diet plays a big role and so does your body weight. How much are you weighing and would you mind posting what you are eating on a day to day basis.

143/95 is not good bro...not trying to scare you but u need to buy a home monitor and check it daily?

a lot of factors contribute to it but diet is #1 and stress is a close 2nd

in the early 1900's heart disease did not exist, now most people have it for those 2 reasons above.

we chase the suburban bs myth in today's society.. you need a wife, 2 kids, 3 cars, a big house in a gated community, work 70 hours a week leaving your house at 5am and coming home at 7.. it is a ruse.. most of these people are miserable.. i am surrounded by single parents where i live who were failures of that suburban myth..
 
people are going to show you all different numbers.. mine is fairly low but thats because of the amount of running i do per week.. im running right at 50 miles per week and when you are training at that level, then your resting heart rate and blood pressure will be lower than the average...

Lmao. Hadn't heard some truth like that in a long time. The older I get, the more truth I see in the fallacy of "The American Dream"!!!!! Let's buy more shit, so we can work more, so we can buy more shit, so we can work more (meanitime we are destroying our health and relationships). Reminds of the old 80's drug abuse commercial where the guys running around the room saying why he works so much, so he can buy more coke, so he can work more...........
 
ias it has been mentioned, there are many variables that cause your pressure to go up, from eating pizza the night before(high sodium) to stress, anxiety, and pain. i have my patients freak out because their pressure is 140/90, and they usually run 125/80. transient HTN occurs in all of us. its the long standing, uncontrolled HTN that you have to worry about, when it will start damaging the kidneys and heart. One reading in the 140's over 90's isn't something to worry about at this point. i would check your pressure daily, in both arms for at least a month, and then get an average of what it is ( best time is in the AM). if it is consistently reading in the 140/90 range,then you may consider seeing a doc. honestly we dont start treating HTN until the 180/100 ranges.

Acute and chronic is where you have to focus...mine stays around 130/85...2nd number is what kills you...its the pressure leaving the heart. Keep in mind when ur doin heavy squats for example that number can shoot up to 200/110...but only for a few sec...if your rhr is high u need to see a doctor
