I have some home work to do for college about this guys bio, what's shocking is that most of people who knew him say he never lifted much weights and he did calisthenics and cardio mostly , but how can you achieve a physique like that? that guy big, body builder type of looking, do you think he ever used roids?

We actually has an evolutionary.org member ask a similar question. He was wondering what type of workout Bo Jackson did -> https://www.evolutionary.org/forums/supplements/bo-jackson-workout-38346.html

I believe that Bo Jackson probably did primarily calisthenics and cardio for his training. Strength and athleticism go together for sure, but athletes are more interested in endurance and functional strength then being able to lift a huge amount of weight for a 1-5 rep max.

Big bulky muscles on a boxer would be counter productive because they wouldn't be as agile. Bodybuilders and boxers train VERY differently. A bodybuilder would workout for 60-90 minutes where as a boxer would train for 3+ hours to build up functional strength and endurance.

As for steroids - who knows. He most likely used things like EQ to increase endurance but you never know. He could just be a genetic freak and be completely natural.

He is very fit - that is definitely true, and I agree that his physique is perfectly attainable with calisthenics. Just check out Hannibal For King - that guy has an amazing shape, and he does precisely that kind of sport.

I actually know the answer and it will surprise a lot of you.

when i was a weight lifter in high school and college I worked out 6X per week (yes our coach made us come in on saturday), i busted my ass all fucking summer driving to school and working out in the gym. i ate perfect for 2 years. all that just to win my county and be 8th in the state in my weight class.

another dude (won't say who but he did play pro football briefly) never showed up all summer and I do not remember seeing him once show up in the gym at all. but he still ended up qualifying for state and got like 2nd in his weight class. why? GENETICS. he ended up playing a lot in division 1 and got drafted into the NFL. problem is once he got into the NFL EVERYONE HAS GREAT GENETICS. so guess what happened? he simply didn't last long cause his work ethic sucked.

you can argue Bo Jackson's brief career was due to not proper nutrition or weight training, which may have helped extend his career which was cut way short due to injury. we will never know but it is food for thought

Bo Jackson is a genetic freak. He is one of those guys that could get away with not training as much as other guys. Did he juice? Who knows but in the end it doesn't really matte. I just think it is too bad his career was cut short. We don't see 2 sport athletes like this anymore.
