To op, protein. Shakes are fine for anyone, as long as it's not filled with fillers, sugar and artificial crap. You cant depend on proteinshakes to lose fat or gain muscle, that starts at the dinner table and the gym entrance
I feel that everyone, regardless if they are an athlete or not should be taking -
Vitamin D
Fish oil
Probiotics
Greens powders and a fiber supplement (depending on diet)
