sometimes when I bend down to pick something up my whole back will tingle and start to burn, almost as though I had a pre-workout with alot of beta alanine. does this happen to anyone else? and what is it?

This sounds like a Nerve Involvement of some Type.
Tingling - Burning - Slight Loss of Feeling - are all Manifestations of either a Pinched or Aggravated Nerve.

So ask yourself - what did you do that might have caused this.
Didn't Warm-Up Properly before Working Out.
Either Went Too Heavy during a Lift or Used Poor Form.
Went Beyond your Usual ROM (range of motion), for a Particular Exercise......................................... JP
P.S.
It happens to Plenty of Guys and Gals who lift Regularly.
P.S.S.
Depending on Exact Starting and Stopping points on the back, you can Approximate the Spinal Nerve that's Involved.
P.S.S.S.
One Question:
Does this Tingling and Burning go down 1 your Glutes or Extend down the Back or Side of your Leg ?

Its just my back not the bottom of my leg (i'm almost certain) but i will know for sure next time it happens.

Well, that's Good then.
If the Tingling was starting in your Lower Back and Radiating down your Buttock and into your Leg.
That would be Indicative of a Sciatic Nerve Involvement.
Which is Pretty Common but is Still a Pain in the Ass/Leg/Lower Spine....................................... JP
P.S.
Next time that it Happens.
Just try to Remember where it Starts and where it Ends.
Also, what Exactly you're doing when it happens.

the issue may be a "pinched nerve" in your lumbar spine...I had the same issue and went to a chiropractor...after 3 treatments, no more issue :)

Sounds very similar to an alignment or nerve issue in your lower back. I have had to deal with the same type of things from time to time, and every couple years I have to go to the chiropractor and get readjusted, then it goes away. Just went on Tuesday myself actually

I'd go see a Dr bro don't mess with your back

My thoughts are this as well. Pretty sure that's not normal.

Chiropractors are so 'under'rated. I really believe they are some of the best doctors out there. Obviously they are not all the same. I you may not know there are actually three fields of practice within chiropractics, so even if you've had poor luck in the past, methods of treatment are very different within different fields.

Beta Alanine can definitely cause tingling but not in the sense you are referencing. While it is common to feel that pinch and then tingling or numbness in your leg when it is a nerve, that may not hold true in the beginning stages. You need to get to the chiropractor and get realigned sooner than later. The longer you let this go on, the far more problematic it becomes. The rise in inflammation presents a problem of getting everything back into place because the inflammation will make it far more difficult for movement.

JPs advice was spot on.. Tingly is often nerve related so make sure you check it out before causing further damage. Hopefully insurance covers that shit because Chiros aint cheap!

Chiropractors are the conservative way to go. If the issue does not resolve within a few weeks of treatment a more invasive means of treatment may be warranted. That is when a Neurologist may be your next field of choice...But give the chiropractors a chance.
