"why do you do it"??
Why do you do it, when did all-start where you caught the gym bug?

Don't tell us what we want to hear, be honest with yourself and tell us why do you do it? (Specifics, the gear, the excessive dieting, killer sessions or even multiple sessions daily, everything under the bodybuilding/fitness Spectrum)

How old were you when you caught the gym bug? And was there some sort of influence, a person, an iconic role model, was it a sport you played or even the military?

Initially, to keep up with the jocks in high school who got attention from girls. I was just a skinny kid. Once I realized I could actually affect the way my body looked just by lifting, it became an obsession. Been there ever since.

if i don't exercise I go crazy. it is something i have to do to keep my mind right.

I also live in a beach town so having a nice body makes me confident to take my shirt off.

what makes me obsessed is YOU GUYS ON HERE. since I am the head honcho of this forum it would be incredibly hypocritical for me to look like shit and not practice what i preach.

It's such a long and somewhat sad story and personal that I don't want to dig any deeper into it. Sorry guys.

why don't you get it off your chest ? it will help others to hear your story who can relate

I was super skinny through my teen years. I recall I was 110lbs taking wet my freshmen year of high school. Decided to start lifting at about 16 and lifted 5-6 days a week for over 15 years. In my 20's I was 165-175 and super lean and strong. I was happy with my physique and strength and it gave me a lot of confidence in life overall. Probably the best thing I did in my life to improve myself. I took a break in my 30's when life got in the way....blah blah blah...it's an excuse but I slacked off and it's the one regret I have. Then got back into it in my 40's and I don't even want to look back anymore. Sitting at 187lbs, 10-11 percent BF, vascular and stronger than I've ever been. I am still adding muscle and making improvements to my physique...although at a much slower pace. But I am happy to say I think I look the best I have looked my entire life. So for those of you "older" folks...you can still make a huge change in your physique. It's not too late!

I was 15. I've written about the why multiple times.

Started when I was 13.....31 years ago. Caught the bug reading my old man's muscle and fitness magazines. My dad was a sheet metal worker and fabbed up some really awesome shit and we had a hell of a home gym. I was the skinniest kid in school. I was tired of being small. Tired of being picked on. The iron helped me find myself, my confidence, and has helped me succeed in all areas of my life. I live for that drive
