Hey guys, I just started trt last week. I have ten 200mg test c ampules on hand here, but I've only ever used vials before when I was cycling. So I've done some research and it seems like you need filter needles to use ampules? Is the risk of contamination that bad or would I be okay just breaking it open and withdrawing with the 18 gauge needles I have on hand? Thanks
I mean contaminated in the sense of reading about micro fragments of glass getting into the syringe from breaking the top off
that is why you break it carefully and correctly
also we swallow glass all the time by mistake along with a lot of other bad shit.

They actually make a tool for breaking amps. You can find it on medical supply stores online. I've used it. Dropping the gauge of the needle will mean smaller fragments if it was to happen. I just dont buy amps anymore lol.

Just be careful and break it correctly and there shouldn't be any problem about it. You'll be fine and better just to switch to vials again, easier and more convenient
If it makes you feel better... doctors, nurses, paramedics etc, don't use filters. They just draw straight up and inject... standard practice bro
Doesn't happen. Years ago lots of test came in ampules. We all survived.

Not true. Actually, the reason he is seeing that he needs a filter syringe is because it is standard protocol in most EMS agencies and hospitals to use filter syringes. Realistically, getting them is not that difficult, but I think that the reason they say they're needed is because a lot of IV meds come in amps, and drawing a tiny piece of glass and injecting it IV is a huge fucking problem. For an IM injection, even if you did draw up something small it wouldn't cause a major problem, worst case would be a couple days of antibiotics. So like everyone else said, they probably aren't really needed, but is you're really worried about it I bet you can get them on amazon.

Wouldnt those particles eventually have to fester or they would just get infected over and over again?
Thats interesting, its possible. Im not a Dr, but I would guess that with that there was a bunch a crap that that is just taking time to work itself out, its probably always a different piece of debris that's working itself out. In the case of one small piece injected deeply IM, worst case scenario, it would get infected, then once the infection subsided it would be encapsulated in scar tissue, and not be an issue once your body has figured out what is is and how to deal with it.
