Introduction

Welcome to another episode of the Evolutionary.org podcast.  In this podcast #609, Steve and Mobster discuss Mike Rashid and his life and career. They also go over his social media influence, diet, and training, and the guys speculate on his steroid cycle based on what we know he likes and has talked about.

Early life and career

The guys start the show going over Mike's life. Mike Rashid was born in 1982 and his current stats are 5'11'' and 225 pounds with a very lean body fat. Growing up, Mike learned work ethic and labor through his father who taught him outdoor things like how to chop wood, running on soft surfaces, and using trees to train.  This helped build him a strong body in his early teenage years.  He won the Golden Gloves as a teenager and was a very good boxer.  Once he got into his 20's, he wanted to push himself in bodybuilding and at 28 years old won 1st place at the 2010 NPC Mid-Michigan Natural Bodybuilding Championships.  He also enjoyed a passion for powerlifting and has put up some impressive numbers including 480 pounds on the bench press and also 600+ on the deadlift with proper form.

 

Social media influence

The guys say that Mike has been able to grow his social media quite substantially thanks to networking with other stars in the industry such as CT Fletcher who motivates and impresses.  He has a website called https://mikerashid.com/ which currently features a $5000 giveaway fitness challenge.  He also offers an Alpha shred challenge app and a monthly plan.

He is extremely active on social media and has Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube.

His businesses include books, training and diet programs, clothing, supplements, and more.

 

Diet

Steve talks about his diet. Mike was one of the first big influencers to push fasting and once-a-day eating back in 2017 when it was considered controversial and a fad or silly.  He has many different videos on his fasting protocols.

He says that humans historically have eaten once or twice a week, so eating once a day isn't that hard.  Steve says he makes sure to be clear that he doesn't preach this, and says it is important to approach this topic by being clear, and that it is up to a person how they should eat but he recommends at the very least to practice intermittent fasting. Mike says that all the diabetes, obesity, and other issues that are going on can be solved using these strategies.  He also mentions Dr. Jason Fung quite a bit and the science and data. Steve gets more into what this type of diet would entail.

 

 

Training

Mike Rashid has respect for a prison style of training, keeping it basic when using whatever is in hand. He is well known for his famous arm workouts.

Mobster says his favorite is EZ bar skull crushers – back and forth with a buddy (fewer reps as you go) – small rest – arms go back a tad (stretch) – which gives a killer pump.

Another one is single-arm dumbbell tricep extension (inc bench) – similar to the JM press – where he doesn't let the lower arm come forward 10 reps.

Mobster goes over his favorite exercises that you should try:

* Iso lateral moves which is less cheating he says.

*Stays healthier with no crazy heavy stuff now.

*It's more about effort vs a lot of sets.

*Seated tricep overhead extensions (his buddy did standing and single arm vs double arm).

*Cable one arm (looks more like a press-down) tricep extensions and he prefers free weights over machines.

 

Steroid cycle

The guys speculate on Mike's favorite cycle to achieve his physique.

Trenbolone Enanthate - 500mgs per week

Equipoise - 800mgs per week

Testosterone Cypionate - 1000mgs per week

Cardarine (GW) - 20mgs per day

Anavar - 100mgs per day
