Food processing / How processed is your food.

the yuka app is free. i highly recommend it. a good project is go around your pantry and scan what you got.

even if your salt a lot of times has chemicals added to it. these go into your foods even if you do everything else right.

processed foods are the devil. stick to natural whole foods always and you will get better everything from sleep, to energy, to gains, to gut health etc.
 
This is a good write up from Yuka on the definition of processed foods and the differences between each category. Basically you should avoid ultra processed food:

How close is it to the original source. Look at the ingredient list, i think a minimally processed food is ok. For instance Smuckers Natural PB vs Skippy PB. The Natural PB is better for you.

If you look at the PDF, I like the comparison between the Walkers vs Lorna doone shortbread cookies. See ingredient lists below.

I wouldn't touch anything with rapeseed oil, just the fact it has "rape" in it says all :D
