6 Week Contest and SARMS1 GW 501516 Log - Girly Style

Hi All!

Some of you know me from over on EF and Dylan has very graciously offered me a mod spot here and I'm really happy to be a part of this site. Seems like a great group of people!

I have just started a 6 week weight loss contest and my GW 501516 has been ordered, so I'm going to run a log of both. I'll likely continue on past the 6 weeks but the contest I'm in runs for that period of time. I think it will be great to get more female experiences out there and I'm someone who doesn't believe in over supplementing and tend to be more conservative. I think I can offer great input to women who do not compete at high levels or do not want to look "like men" but want to have the extra boost. :)

So...a little about me.

I'm 41, female and currently in the worst shape I've been in in probably 5 years. I've competed in the past and have been really overweight in the past, so have kinda been all over the place. This last year saw me through a really bad separation and I lost motivation for a long time.

But...new year, new goals, new outlook!

My one and only son works at a new gym in our city called Orange Theory and it's one of those gimmicky fitness places but I get a free membership and decided a 6 week weight loss contest with cash prizes was good incentive to get back on the horse. I've hit that stage out out-of-shapeness where I really can't stand myself. I'm sure some of you have been there at some point.....right?!? ;)

Anyway, it's based on percentage of weight loss and the grand prize is $10,000. It's across the country though but hey....why not give it a shot. Go hard or go home! The catch is I have to attend a minimum of 3 of their workouts a week. If you aren't familiar, they're a bit like a bootcamp and given my current fitness level, kick my butt! It's perfect and will whip me right back where I need to be.

I will post up my daily log and extra details and will be starting the GW 501516 as soon as it arrives.

Wow, $10,000??? That's awesome. I'm really routing for you. Do we get a cut too?? :D :D

GW is going to give you a serious edge over the competition. Get that diet dialed in and hit the cardio hard and GW will melt that junk right off your trunk

Crazy money hey?!? I think runner up prizes are $2500 which I'd be happy with too. lol

I'm going to do my diet the way I would with 6 weeks out before a show, with the calories slightly higher. There's 44 people in my city registered and my son said I'm the only one at his location who has any sort of past "dieting" experience. And with everything I've read about GW, I'm really pumped.

good luck!!! i'm always so impressed with people who have the strength and determination to compete.

So technically, could someone have gained as much fat as possible purposely then diet it off to lose a bigger percentage? It seems like you could fix this competition...

Well....I ate like a horse the week before and I did eat and drink a ton of water prior to my weigh in but...the heavier you are, the more you have to lose. So...10% on a 300 lb person is 30 lbs, which is different than if you were say, 150 lbs. I can't figure out which would be better. I think the heaviest person locally was 347 lbs my son said. But again...no real idea about dieting.

I weighed in on Saturday and was down 6 lbs this morning so that gives you some idea of how much I loaded myself up! ;)

Thanks!! If nothing else, it will get me back on the health and fitness track. :)

LETS DO THIS!! Anything you need, let me know... I will do whatever I can to help ensure you win this contest... Make sure you are running gw at 20 mg a day... Split your doses of 10 mg each 12 hours apart... I am with you all the way on this... You will see how unbelievable the gw cardarine quality is from sarms1... Put in the work and you will be well on your way!

Awesome CG... Im in and following your progress.. you will absolutely love sarms1 gw. Go hard!

You have a very good shot at winning this contest with your experience and the GW to help you get there. I'm excited to watch your journey to victory!

Subbed Cali! Just found this forum from Elite.
I'm on that forever bulk but when it comes time to cut I think doing
something for (potential) cash would be such a great incentive. Who doesn't want more $$$

Well...it will definitely melt the fat off...but I would think as a woman she would like a little junk in the trunk? At least a moderate amount. Maybe I'm just voicing my thoughts out loud...

Btw good luck with the contest. 6 weeks of GW should almost certainly help you to win this contest as long as your diet is on point. Obviously all of us will strive to assist you along the way.

Agreed bro, keep the junk in the trunk...just get rid if the rest of it lol.

Good luck with the contest, I will be following.

Also let me tell you something, make sure you don't tell anyone to use GW, that way there is no way you can lose!!!

LOL I have squatted enough over the years that I have more than enough junk. Too much currently! ;)

Day 4

Thank you to everyone for the comments and support!

The contest officially started Monday, although I did my weigh in Saturday. I'm officially down 9 lbs from Saturday (can you tell I watered up before?) LOL

So far, so good, although I can barely walk today from soreness! It's a good sore.

A little about this gym....called Orange Theory fitness. You go for a 52 min workout. Half of it is on a treadmill and you do intervals. The other half is on the floor doing various circuits. Some of it is with weights and some body weight. The gimmick is you wear a heart rate monitor around your chest and there's big screens in the place where you can see where you're at. The idea being you have to try to get between 12-20 mins in the "orange zone" which for me is a heart rate at about 85% max or about 158. I like it because it motivates me to NOT be the lowest number on the board and I can push myself too, as I now have some idea of what my base numbers are. It also tracks calories burned. I know it's a bit out of the norm for the usual bodybuilding workout but it's kicking my butt and will be a great way to get some conditioning back. I am definitely working harder there than my usual gym visits, pre contest.

I'm doing 30 mins of fasted cardio every morning too. Usually running intervals on the treadmill. My plan is to do weights on the off days from the classes, so likely just a 2-3 day split. I usually do a 4-5 day split and I'll go back to that after this is over. Currently, putting a shirt on this morning was painful so.....

A quick note about SARMS1 so far.

I got confirmation of my order being shipped within 24 hours of the order being placed. A tracking number was provided too, which is great being that I'm in another country and you never know with Customs. I'm VERY impressed with the customer service. :)

And...as far as diet....

My target for week 1 was between 1800-2000 calories/ day with a split of 50p/30f/20c. My maintenance is approx 2350 when I'm in decent shape.

I have had a hard time hitting the target so far but got closer yesterday. I've been so sore from the workouts and felt sick to my stomach. I've jacked up my water intake too. I can feel my body starting to respond, though, and I'm hungrier so will be hitting targets soon.

Carbs are from primarily veggies with some oatmeal post workout. I'm someone who will likely eat the same thing every day so I'll post up my meal plan once I finish tweaking it.

I also think I'm in sugar withdrawl! Gawd!

Ok, one more thing...I'm definitely keep my extra advantages to myself. My son's best friend works there too and his dad joined, last minute, so now there's this rivalry already going on. I know this dad, too, through soccer (my son plays at a high level soccer and it's really an old boys' club at that level) so, I always get treated like "just the mom".

It will bring me great delight to thoroughly beat him! :D

Sweet :) I'm sure you will. Keep killin it.

I am anxious to read your results! I read a lot of your posts over at EF. I'm glad to see you here. I'll be updating my log tomorrow

Day 4 (yesterday) is officially in the books!

I did my early morning cardio for 30 and then hit a class last night. Not gonna lie...it was painful. It was probably my worst class yet in terms of heart rate in the right zone but fatigue hit hard. I still had decent results and sort of thought I'd need a wheelchair this morning. :)

Just to give you some idea of the circuit last night....

20 squat/ curl/ overhead press movement with DB
20 back rows on the TRX
20 tricep dip on the TRX
20 push ups
20 crunches
300 metres rowing

Repeat....for the 26 mins.

Then 26 mins of intervals. Yesterday there were a lot of "hills" in the intervals.

I was proud of myself for getting there!

Calories were at 1464. Macros 40p/33f/27c. I got some protein in after the class but really wanted to puke. I need to get them up higher.

Today is Day 5 and let me just say, I'm SORE!!

I was going to do Friday's as a rest day but I may go and do some light cardio later to try to walk some of this soreness off. Diet is on point, so far today. I woke up starving so good news there. My sugar withdrawl headache is gone too. I've realized that I need this type of intensive exercise. My sleep is better, my mood is better and I overall feel better. One of those things, I KNOW, but forget about sometimes when life gets in the way.

Keep up the good work Cali... Wow 10k! That's one heck of a incentive , I won 2k at my local gym a couple of years ago and I thought I hit the lottery! Lol. Good luck and work hard...

Thanks!! It's definitely something I have already used to get myself out the door and to the gym!

Wow day 4 was an intense workout. I imagine you'd get real cut and toned fast with workouts like that

Tell you what.. that GW is no joke. it kicked in for me in 2 days, and I'm bragging because I got 2000 reps of jump rope in today.. I could have kept going to. You're going to win this thing Cali!

No...it was just shipped on Wednesday so I'm hoping it doesn't take too long. I'm in western Canada though. How's your training going??

They ship from Vegas and it crosses the border in Vancouver. You should have it really quickly. My first order took 8 business days, which is about the normal time things from the USA takes. That was at Christmas. After Xmas I made a second order and it got here in less than a week!!!

Training is pretty good. I caught a really bad cold as soon as I started my cycle so cardio has been poor. I started up again - did some jogging on the treadmill. It wasn't a great run but I think it's to be expected. I am still congested.

Even so - for 3 weeks I have been eating a little more, doing less cardio. I have gained 3lbs and it appears to be lean gains (bf measurement will be in Feb). I see some leaning out in my upper body. Note that getting lean is not really by goal...making lean gains is. I am not "dieting" in any way - although my diet is super clean almost all the time.

With your diet you should drop weight very effectively!

That's great news. I should have a good 4 weeks with it then. :)

There's brutal colds and flu going around here too. Sounds like you've seen some good gains already!

I just looked and it left Vegas this morning! Hopefully here by the end of next week. Woo hoo!

Day 5

I went last night with the intention of doing 30 mins moderate cardio. I made it to about 23 mins and thought I was going to pass out. lol I got that head rush and broke out in the cold sweat and went white as a sheet so figured, probably time to call it a night. I pushed through for a couple more minutes but it didn't pass.

Calorie wise, I hit 2060 yesterday. 50/25/25 split. My target is 1800-2000 so I'm happy with that. I had an extra protein shake and a banana after the gym, which threw my carb macro off. Not sure I realized bananas had that many carbs!! I could have ended with that but forced myself to eat that last meal. I felt sick to my stomach but really felt like I needed those calories.

Today is a regular gym day too. I debated doing an extra class but I am so sore so gonna take one extra day and do the class tomorrow. I'm just not sure if I should do a weight workout today or keep it at cardio. IDK!

Cali,
Take some
Before pictures and after pictures. I take them every week or every second week when cutting to help see the changes and keep motivated!

I need to do that! I had them taken at the gym with this contest but don't have any of my own.

I was thinking about you last night...if you and your wife ever want to try something different for a workout and are in Edmonton, let me know and I can hook you up with some free Orange Theory classes.

Also....where do you buy buffalo locally??

You could do a low weight high reps recovery workout or a bodyweight workout for recovery doing high reps at a moderate pace over a long duration (also known as long cycle). Recovery is just as important as the workouts! Keep up the good work :)

I used to get it from a family friend, but he got out of the business.. I'm new to Edmonton area, so I don't have a new local hookup.
As for before and afters, I do them in just boxers, my before are not flattering, but with nothing to hide, they sure keep me accountable.
What is this orange theory you speak of?

I put a thing up on my Facebook page and got a few responses for local places that sell it. I also got a message about a farmer who you can get in on butchering etc but I'm not sure I need a whole buffalo! lol I'll pm ya some info.

Google Orange Theory Fitness. It's a new franchise gym that has opened in Edmonton in the last year. This is the gym I'm doing the contest through. I'm only there because my son works there. A full membership is pretty $$$ (which is probably why it's down in Riverbend where the rich people live lol)

I did exactly this! Great minds think alike! And thanks for the reminder about recovery. Sometimes, especially when on a short timeline, I can push myself and then burn out too quickly.

Day 6 - Saturday, Jan 25th

I hit the regular gym and did a low weight, higher rep upper body workout, just to kind of stretch things out.

I used 17.5 lb DB and did...

Flat chest press
Standing rows
Shoulder Press

All 3 sets @ 15 reps.

Did some unweighted incline crunches and a lot of stretching. I didn't do arms. My triceps are really sore! Probably the sorest part of my body right now. I had a bad tricep tear a couple years ago, so am a bit cautious on overdoing them.

I killed it on cardio though!! ;)

30 mins, incline at 3% and running intervals for 20. I have this app on my phone that will count out the intervals so I can just listen to music and focus on the workout, not on watching the clock. It gives you a 5 min walking warm up and then 60 seconds running and 90 seconds walking for 20 mins, 5 min cool down. Now that I have some idea what it feels like to get my heart rate way up there, I really pushed it.

This is the final day of week 1 for the contest. I have my 3rd class this morning at 11:45 (required to do 3 classes a week). I'll post up my stats tomorrow but I weighed myself this morning and it's ridonkulous! I did it twice just to make sure.

Day 7, Sunday

Hit it hard today...the workout was called a 10 to 1, which means for each group of exercises you do 10 reps of both, then 9, then 8 and so on until you hit 1 and then move on to the next exercise.

DB Squat into an OH press
Bench jumps/ push ups
DB curls/ OH Tri extension
Kettlebell swing/ Crunches holding the KB

The rowing for whatever time was left (I had about a min of rowing).

Then switched to interval training on the treadmill for 26 mins. There were a lot of hills on this cycle so blocks of time at 3%/ 6%/ 10% and 13%.

I hit my calorie target of 1800 - 50/30/20 split!

Weigh in Monday morning.

Day 8 - Monday

A quick update....I AM OFFICIALLY DOWN 12 LBS since my initial weigh in a week ago Saturday. Yes, really!! And yes....a lot of water, as I water logged myself before that weigh in but it's all about numbers in this contest.

And the beauty is, I'm not starving myself. Just working hard and kicking ass! :)

SARMS tracking says it's left the USA and is enroute, as of Saturday. So impressive!! Bring on the GW.

Great log so far girl

Great progress cali! I'm really hoping you win this. Throw in some tren :D ololol

LOL I`m already a little irritable. I might kill someone if I ever touched tren!!

So, I took yesterday as a complete rest day and didn't even do any cardio. I had a crazy day at work and was pretty exhausted. I even went to bed about 9 pm, which is crazy but slept through the night. I dropped my calories just a bit and came in about 1650.

I'm pretty sore today too but back at class tonight. :)

Let us know how the class goes, girlfran! The workouts you posted so far are very challenging...but if they were easy everyone would be doing them :D

I got called to do mandatory overtime last night, so....when it's mandatory....you don't get much of a choice. I work in a hospital. It was nice, though, to have the full two days rest. My soreness is all but gone!

I'm hitting a class in an hour and it's called a "Tornado" class, which is supposedly a jacked version of what I've been doing. God help me!

Calories yesterday were on point and today, so far, so good. I haven't cheated on my diet and the scale is still moving.

My SARMS1 hit Canadian customs last night about 3 am. I'm not sure which city but it's great to track them!

Tornado details coming soon!

Day 10 - Wednesday, Jan 29th

Last night was the Tornado class!

It was divided into 3 parts. I started with the rowing.

Row for 800 m
20 bicep curls with a band and 20 squats (the band seemed dumb to me but I couldn't get 20....go figure)
Row for 600 m
25 curls/ 25 squats
Row for 400 m
20 curls/ 20 squats
Row for 200 m
25 curls/ 25 squats
Repeat till times up.

Treadmill: 18 mins of intervals. I'm improving already and my speed for the all out sprints is picking up.

Then over to the floor.

It was a series of 10/20/30/20/10 reps. Go through each exercise at 10 then 20 etc.
All with a medicine ball tonight.

Reverse lunge with an OH press
Wood chops
Push ups with feet on the ball
Sit ups
Side to side ball crunches with feet in the air
Burpees (God help me)

I made it halfway through the 30 set in the timeframe.

Calories on point!

My package has cleared Customs! :)

Do we get a cut too??

Are you asking if we get a cut... for Cali getting cut?????  Pun is definitely intended.

I'm extremely pumped to see the way this works out for you. I have significantly more female clients than male clients and they're always interested in new products. I'll follow your protocol and report to my female posse!

That tornado workout looks serious as shit. Looks like your sarms are almost there :) Time to step it up a notch.

You'd think with a workout called Tornado, there'd be disaster relief crews on site! LOL You know...to carry you to your car! ;)

Awesome! I have experience with a few different aas and some of the fat burners etc so really excited to try this and will have something to compare it to. I'm also fairly conservative for usage and really like to minimize sides, which I think a lot of women would look for. Not that there'll be any with GW but just thinking down the road, if I expand my use.

Awesome! I have experience with a few different aas and some of the fat burners etc so really excited to try this and will have something to compare it to. I'm also fairly conservative for usage and really like to minimize sides, which I think a lot of women would look for. Not that there'll be any with GW but just thinking down the road, if I expand my use.

I'm definitely going to have to pick your brain.

I'm having to dig deep tonight to get to the gym. It's cold and my legs are sore!

But...I'm moving away from the fireplace and gonna force myself to go. This is my first challenging day. As in.. Man, I'd like to stay on the couch but that's how I got this out of shape in the first place!

I shall report back!

And I changed my phone to f for most of you. We do Celsius up here and that would read -15 c... Ugggghhh

Good on ya Cali, this cold, plus 4am starts for work have kept me home wed+thurs

Ya I haven't moved yet so not good yet! lol at least I have a remote start and the car will be warm but that strong desire to not be cold is there!

4 am is brutal!

No that's f!! It's about -16 Celsius lol

Made it!

I had to start with 6 mins of elliptical because all the treadmills were full. Not really an elliptical fan.

Hit the treadmill and did my 30 mins of intervals.

5 mins walking
20 mins of 60 run and 90 walk
5 mins cool down

I`ve increased my run speed by 1.5-2.0 mph just since I started. I don't "love" running but it does really help me to get lean.

My glutes are dying! lol

But...I sucked it up and had a good session! Going to bed a happy girl. :)

I haven't actually started GW yet. If it's not here tomorrow, it'll be here Monday. Which is amazingly fast shipping!!

I'm excited to see what my cardio will be like with GW. I should have a solid 4 weeks with it before this contest ends.

If I could afford it, I'd take a 2 week snowboarding vacation to lose weight rather than going to the gym. I'm sure I would burn much more calories in a full day of boarding than I would in the gym

Stuff like that is basically a really intense recovery workout ha. I definitely want to try to get some skiing in before winter is over always a good time.

Nice workout! I wish I had the attention span to run on a treadmill...looks like I'm stuck running outside for now. Nice workout keep working hard, girl! That GW will basically give you a turbo button for your cardio it's crazy haha.

Haha not if your hitting the moguls and tree runs....that shit is more intense than some HIT routines. I don't think that there is a better core workout than doing that on a board. Maybe kayaking.

I'm surprising my one and only son with a boarding trip to whistler, BC next Sunday for his 18th birthday. It's Canada's top mountain. I'm going to wake him up and send him on a short Amazing Race type thing and he and I will go play for a couple days. :)

It's Saturday morning about 830 am here and I'm off to another Tornado class. Go hard or go home right?!?

Hell yes, go hard cali!

Definitely want to go before all the hooligans to for their beer, hot wings, and party food for Super Bowl Sunday

Day 13 - Saturday...almost 2 weeks in!

Here's the layout for this morning's class...

Block 1 - Rowing

200m
25 squat jumps with a medicine ball

400 m
25 jumping jacks with ball

600 m
25 squats

800 m
25 jacks

1000 m
25 squats

I finished about 3/4 of the way through the 1000 m row in the time. Not loving the rowing!

Treadmill:

Intervals for 18 mins
Walk 1 min
Jog 90 seconds
All out 60 seconds and so on....

The floor part was brutal! It was 8 stations and you did each station for 1 min, then 30 secs push ups, 30 seconds some kind of ab work (she had planks, sit ups, bicycle crunches etc...So each station was about 2 mins total. They were:

TRX mid rows
bench jumps - side to side
burpees with a bosu ball
box jumps
kettle bell swing
stationary mountain climbers
TRX squat jump
high knee jumps over a short bench (kinda like running tires but stationary)

There was a man who appeared to be in his mid to late 60's next to me and he kicked my butt. I was so inspired! My cardio is improving but wow, my core is weak. By the end, holding a plank for 30 second felt like torture.

My body is fatigued but not nearly as sore as I was a week ago! It really feels good to push myself and see what I can achieve. It's been a long time. :)

Good job! Keep it up and you'll win for sure.

Thanks! I thought my GW had cleared customs but I checked today and it says it's still there. After reading your log, I'm really excited to try it!! Hopefully, it'll get here next week so I can have a good 3 - 3.5 weeks with it before the contest ends.

Day 14 - Sunday

I hit up another class today to get my 3 classes in this week. Today was brutal. The mind was willing but the body was hurting! There were two blocks...the first block on the floor was FULL of way too many things involving planks and push ups. lol There were probably 12 different exercises with rowing in between and I lost track of them all.

Treadmill was the usual intervals and I really struggled today. I'm not exhausted as in need to sleep but just fatigued. That being said, I made it through and wasn't the worst in the class. :)

Yesterday, I hit the higher end of the my range for calories at just under 2000. I'll be about 1700 today.

They said mid point weigh in is this week, which seems early.

I made it two weeks!! Better than I've done in months. :)
