Short VS Long AAS Cycle... Which is better?

I had a conversation with WPA (who is obviously very knowledgeable) regarding short AAS cycles.. He explained the benefits and how recovery is far more easy on the body when you run short burst of hormomes.

It made sense that during long cycles your lipds take such a hit as well, making you more susceptible to cardio vascular disease in the long run.

It raises valid concerns, but on the flip side of the coin, compounds like primo and eq offer a better return over longer periods of time, which equals lean body mass gains that are more attainable after your Cycles ends.

I want to hear members thoughts on short AAS cycles, why it's better OR.. the benefits of the long cycle and if it's a better overall game plan?

You have to find that balance that works towards your goals. That goes for cycle length and compounds chosen. Short cycles are certainly healthier and guys like Nelson Montana swear by them, but I've never seen anyone get big doing that either. Just look at Nelson. Very slender, aesthetic build. He cycles primo and trt test only and some low dose of dbol back then. Massive bodybuilders are running higher dosages, stronger compounds, for a longer duration. So I'll ask again, what at your goals? Keeping an aesthetic and slender build but being healthier, or being a mass monster with potentially more health problems down the road? Once you've answered that question, you'll know how to build cycles around those goals.

I agree JB.. goals will really dictate what cycles you should be running for sure. My goal was to never get big personally.. im in it for the long haul and want superior health, but its good to hear what the general concensus is.

I don't think 14-16 week primo cycles are a bad choice, even when being very health conscious. You can easily keep yourself healthy using that steroid for longer durations. For your goals, you could run longer mast/eq/primo cycles like Dylan does. I personally think 6 week primo or eq cycles are a complete waste of gear though. I absolutely can't agree with Nelson on that lol

Even on short esters in don't see the mass the gains start until week 8.

To me 8 weeks in a min

Yes.. based on everything I have seen so far in regards to primo or eq, both seem to do better in the long run. I havent ran either yet, so ill be eager to see how the eq treats me in a little over a month from now

You will love it. That will be my run next year. This year it is 12 weeks tren, 20 weeks eq, 20 week trt test with an extended evolutionary pct at the end. I can see how bros fall in love with tren. I don't think I will run again though.

I have ran just eq at 600 and test and loved it. You are gonna love it at 800 with test. Great for performance. You can make SERIOUS aerobic and anaerobic gains simultaneously.
 
what are you talking as long vs short? 12 weeks vs 20+ week cycles?

12 week cycles are better ,16 max for certain compounds.

Its easier to recover.You can always go back to the well, when its time.

the way to do proper short cycles involves priming and can be complex.its for more advanced users imo.It can be VERY effective when done properly.
 
Can you elaborate on the "priming" for short cycles?

Pre -Cycle Primming- First you must open the growth window and create a very anabolic environment for muscle tissue to grow, muscle receptors will get very excitable and upgrade to except more glucose which will shift the muscle to fat ratio which in turn will create muscle tissue to build very quickly, when this is coupled with a short burst cycle right after a prime the results can be outstanding, some of you will understand this from rebound cycling after a comp, its very similar except the prime isn't as harsh as the pre-cycle comp diet and the prime is only directed at creating and opening the growth window for the cycle, its a pre-cycle prime..HGH protocol should be ran during the prime at low dose and kicked up when cycle starts.

hgh isnt a must imo but it will increase the results of course

you should be fine with that and get nice gains.

when you run short cycles with long esters, thats when you really need to be on top of everthing.Thats when you might really want to study up on priming.

Most of my past cycles were an acerrage of 10 weeks. I consider that short. I did my first long cycle consisting of 18 weeks of eq test. I got some solid clean gains, nothing crazy, that which for the most part I held onto after pct. But over, I don't think I will be doing it again at least for a while. My body seemed to respond MUCH better to short esters. When I did my Test P, tren a winny cycle, the changes were much more drastic, and I just felt 100 times better on it.
 
I love the short cycles I have to say, waiting around for that long ester to kick in can make you go nuts. I personally feel the effects of shorter esters really improve my strength better. But it's all up to the beholder to pick what's best for their body! Got to test the waters and see what's right and what doesn't work. Good luck bro
