? about how stacks work

So as far as I understand, the affinity for binding to androgen receptors is basically how readily a particular androgenic substance activates a receptor in cells. Different compounds have different affinities. Some more than others. Why when multiple steroids are used in a stack does the one with the highest affinity not take up all the "slots" and block out the others.

SERMS work by blocking up the estrogen receptors so actual estrogen can't activate them. Why would the strongest androgen not block out the weaker ones?

Are there different receptors that can be activated only by some androgens and not others? Must be some reason or people would have learned long ago to stick to only single steroid cycles.

Just curious.

It is very hard to answer your question without giving you a 5 hour lecture on chemistry and how the body works.

It's kind of like this. Your body has millions of receptors. Something with a strong binding affinity will bind to the majority of them, but it can't possibly bind to them all. There will still be receptors left over that compounds with a less strong binding affinity can bind to.

Also, certain substances bind to the RECEPTORS and certain substances bind to the compounds that attach to the receptors.

CG, is that you?

Never mind. I looked at your posts, it is clearly a different CuriousGeorge.

we stack steroids because they do different things. some aromatize, some don't.. some are more androgenic, some anabolic.. some have sides, some don't as much.

you shouldn't stack 3 wet compounds because you will bloat too much
you shouldn't stack 3 dry compounds cause you won't have an androgenic kick to your cycle
you shouldn't stack 3 compounds which have strong sides or you will feel blah all day and not be able to sleep
etc etc.

I mean you CAN do the above, but its not the best way for these compounds to work together..

Well, there is also the factor of different compounds having somewhat different modes of action, and it can not be limited to just androgenic affinity. Otherwise, all the steroids there are would not have such different effects. Therefore, when you stack steroids, you can keep the dosages low, which will save you quite a lot of side effects. All in all, it is a very complicated topic, that could be discussed for hours.

The main thing here is to keep it simple. Different compounds do different things. You can fill in certain gaps as you become more experienced and learn how your body responds.

Definitely agree that it is quite a complex subject. I'm sure entire careers could and have been spent on study and research in this field. Will we someday have a complete and comprehensive understanding of the exact biological mechanisms involved in the actions of these different compounds, or the actual functioning of our bodies hormonal system?
I doubt it.

I've often wondered this question when the topic of neurobiology is presented: Will the human brain ever be intelligent enough to fully understand itself?

Just something to think about I suppose.

this is why we have sites like this where we can network and learn about each others experiences. researching these compounds is important yes, and is learning from someone who has used steroids for 20 years.. you need both.

BUT there are a lot of bookwormy types who read books on this stuff but don't have any experience, and there are guys using steroids for 30 years who still don't know what an AI or PCT means. so you gotta have both knowledge and experience.
