I just followed steps from PSL to Coinmama, and after creating account, it said that services weren’t available in my area. I’m in the u.s. What is next suggested step?

Use Coinbase or Abra, they work well for US customers. Beware if you do Coinbase and ACH transfers they will hold your funds for 12 days (for NY residents anyway) before they’re cleared to send. You can setup with a debt card or credit card too but they charge more fees.

I switched to Abra because I can use my debit card instantly and it costs me 8% fee, and PSL does 10% off for bitcoin orders so balances out to the original price.

Coinmama isn't available in every state. I'm with Gruntwerkz...use one of those.

Gruntwerkz has you covered

I personally like Coinbase the most and I believe they have the least expensive fees but for some reason my banks debit card system just doesn’t work with their way of linking.

When you add a debit card/cc they send two small deposits to your account, then you login and verify the amounts they are to confirm the card is yours. For some reason with citizens bank only one transaction goes through, when I call the bank they say the second one never came in so I dunno they don’t like my bank. They verify your checking account the same way and that worked fine with the two deposits, same with setting up a PayPal to verify banks. Not sure what it is but there’s some broken link in citizens bank and coin bases system to links debit cards.

So being a NY residents and using a checking account to purchase (ACH transfer) BTC they hold it for 12 days, I don’t like that personally because bitcoins can fluctuate pretty good and for the off chance you bought a large sum and it takes a huge dump you’re screwed. Some other states in the US do this too, I dunno why.

So onto Abra, you can link your bank accounts for ACH and such but you can use a debit card instantly without doing a verification process. The debit card system directs you to simplex which is partnered with them for DC/CC transactions. This allows you to buy the BTC instantly, you enter your CC info on the site with the billing address and all and it has a form to include your BTC wallet address, so you copy it from Abra and paste it there. Click purchase and they’re sent to your wallet within 10 minutes then you can hop on Abra and send it to the sources wallet. They charge an 8% fee for this but it’s super simple and there’s no waiting time just Incase there’s some giant fluctuation. I use PSL mostly for a source and they give 10% off for BTC payments there for the 8% Abra/simplex got me for is balanced out - no biggie.

It’s a lot safer then using MG or WU, I also hate sitting at the CS desk in Walmart with someone giving you the stink eye. If you order a lot and you get the same people at the desk they ask questions, I’ve told them before to mind their own business. I’ve also had MG payments held up an all sorts of shit.

Once you get the swing of bitcoins OP you will like it, it’s easier.

Just placed an order with PSL using Bitcoin. This was my first time using it and I used Coinbase. Seemed easy enough though. Sent my payment reply email back to PSL with all the appropriate info and now just gonna sit back and wait. Thanks for the feedback and advice guys.

Did you email them with the details? It says on their site send an email to their email address with the transaction ID, the bitcoin amount, and your order ID, etc to complete so they can find the payment.

I have purchased from PSL and very fast, responsive, and A+ stuff so I wouldnt worry just make sure to follow all of the steps.

I did. I replied to the order email with all of the info requested. Not worried at this point....it’s still early in the day.

If you read all their shipping info and such they state in there that it can take up to 3 days to process your payment and another 3 until it’s shipped, so I round about 6 business days until it leaves.

If the BTC transaction is complete they will email you in a day or 2, you might even hear back today.

In my experience once you send PSL the payment you’re set to just relax and wait for your goodies to arrive.

No problem, typically they are faster then their suggested time frame on the website but just like any other business they will have slow days.

I’ve used them for a few years and never not received a package, I recall one time in 2016 I sent the funds and never got an email back - 10 days later it was in my mailbox. It sounds like they’re good with updating their website now though, so check your status on there later too and see if it lists paid.

Okay, I will for sure. Again, appreciate the level of detail here. Sounds like you’ve had nothing but good experiences with them.

im not worried. just anxious and curious to see if the bitcoin fiasco is any faster than the WU method.

Depends on what you mean by faster I guess. A WU payment they have to physically pick up versus a BTC deposit to their wallet being close to instant is a big difference, but I wouldn’t count on it making your order ship that much faster. However the main advantage of BTC is the security factor, no worries about a flagged MG or WU payment holding the process up.

I would have to assume on PSL level, being that they’re pretty big now, they have a process for packing and shipping. It likely doesn’t matter how you paid, all payments received on the same day are likely verified then sent to start prepping shipping and all that and all sent out together. There’s no way they have someone saying oh hey there’s his BTC let’s send it immediately and they head right to the post office. They have multiple ship locations too so I’m sure stuff is done in a batch type manner to make get their business more efficient so don’t count on BTC making your order pop up tomorrow.

i guess im old fashioned. ive never had an issue with sending a WU/MG. i have had issues with the dummies on the other end trying to pick it up. nevertheless, i set up the gay ass bitcoin account because i like to purchase gear and i get the feeling that eventually this will be the only currency to make such purchases. just my opinion here. but with bitcoin being instant versus going and physically picking up wu/mg, i would think that the payment process would be sped up which would in turn would speed up the shipping process. but who knows. i will feel better when i get the notification that the status of my order has changed from 'awaiting payment' to payment picked up or payment confirmed

this my first purchase with PSL, so obviously im comparing times from ordering, payment confirmation, shipping, and delivery

Well how long has it been since you sent the BTC payment? Was it just this morning?

I understand by skipping the pickup of cash that paying is quicker but I think they process this stuff in groups, that just makes logical sense from a business stand point. It’s not like they’re a small email only based service that ships an order immediately, they have multiple ship locations, I’m guessing multiple workers and even departments.

All the large sources I’ve used take the same time to say payment complete regardless of WU or BTC.

I’ve never had issues with WU either but again sitting at the counter all the time sending money to all these overseas receivers sounds weird. You also pay a fee for WU or MG anyway so really paying BTC is cheaper since they give the 10% discount. By the time you pay them, even with fees you’re still paying less then the listed price if you pay with BTC.

Eventually it’s going to get harder and harder to send money like we do, I wouldn’t doubt if someday they started more rules amongst bitcoins but right now it’s the easiest way.

yeah i agree, i hate sending money to china/russia/lebanon. lmao
the bitcoin is going to be cool, i just got to get used to it. i sent my payment last night. i will feel better once i know the payment was received. im not impatient when it comes to the shipping part.

Just remember they ship and process out of EU, so when you sent your payment last night it was early morning hours there. They’re about 6 hours ahead of us so today was their first business day with the payment being sent, it’s 7:35pm there now so it’s over normal business hours. You will likely hear from by our morning time tomorrow, business day 2.

Just wanted to update all here. Just got email confirmation that payment was picked up by PSL. Order will ship within 3 working days.

I told ya just to relax brother, you don’t even need to keep an eye on what they’re doing. You’ll be pleased.

I think western union is more convient

Curious how or why you think that? From experience those that say that don't understand BTC and never used it. I'm not saying it is one way or another. I'm sure WU is just fine with the Internet these days, but back in the day WU was a pain in the ass. Customer service sucks and I know online if you go over a certain $ amount, you need to be verified, so they do get your info. Yes, some BTC exchanges get info, but that's where it stops. If you know what you are doing, you can be 100% anon. I assure you.

At one time I thought that too. But then I was reminded that at one time we also used a horse and buggy, but we somehow managed to switch to automobiles. It’s technology advancement. BTC is simple and easier to use, and it is virtually untraceable.

And as a plus and an aside. I just made about $800 in the past 4 days on BTC. If you time it right, you can make some serious nontaxable cash. Without giving away too many secrets, there are trends with BTC and you can time them. ;)

I didnt read all the posts to this thread but imma chime in - I just placed my first PSL order using coinbase. It was my first time using BTC. Took a few days to get my account and card linked but once that was done the process was easy

For Canadian customers the easiest way to deal with bitcoins is through a Shakepay mobile app, it literally takes minutes to get BTC on your account from the time you install it. Send funds in through an e-transfer, can exchange from CAD to BTC as you need from within the app and can send a BTC payment from the app. Bank transfers to and from the are free as well.

coinbase is bullshit now; before ACH transfers for me was instant; now what you have to do is before you want to order something wire USD to coinbasepro before you want to buy btc and just wait for the USD to come through then buy btc.

I used coinbase for the first time yesterday. Was my first time with PSL and with BTC. Purchased BTC via my debit card and was able to do so instantly. Had the BTC in an hour-tops. Payment was sent and I already have the email saying it's been received. Absolutely no issues with coinbase

guys i have said this a million times on here but most of you are hard of hearing or something... for some of you this will happen here, and for others there will be bad experiences.. it DEPENDS on your bank, your mode of transfer, etc. so EVERYONE will be different. you should contact your bank first and talk to them about the best way to get money into the account. obviously it makes a difference and some of you may need to open an account with another bank (pretty much all banks let you open accounts over the phone)

Don’t forget state Steve, NY residents are subject to 3 week holds on ACH purchase/deposit for BTC.

For NY residents I have found the absolute easiest way with no holds is cash app, and use your debit card not ACH method or credit card.

It’s a cut and dry app if BTC is hard for you to grasp, you add funds, buy BTC and can send it your source from there as well.

It’s probably the most user friendly or simplest version you’ll see but there’s no bells and whistles either so the guys really into BTC trade would not like it.

However for the simpleton who hates the BTC process download the cash app on your phone, that’s sufficient for merely AAS purchases. Of course some people will have issues with it I’m guessing because as you said Steve some apps or programs don’t seem to jive with some banks.

^^^ yes so you can add 'depending on what state you live in' as another factor on this thing

in the end my advice stands.. fund your bitcoin account well before you need steroids. that will prevent the hassle of 'i need aromasin cause my E is too high'.. oh and make sure you have all your shit on hand ahead of time regardless.. don't just cycle without having things on hand

Is there anyway you can hold money on coinbase without it fluctuating im not trying to invest just use it for purchase

bro so coinbasepro works?

coinbasepro; used to be gdax, its a cryptoexchange basically little no fees buying btc. but only think is wiring money to coinbasepro takes about 7-10 days for it to come in. So if your a constant buyer just load up your wallet with USD and buy btc instantly with little or no fees on limit orders.
