Hi, im a male,5`6 , 19 and 110lbs. Ive tried working out before but I always find a way to get out of my routine and then stop doing it before I get real results. But this summer I really wanna stick to it and workout alot(well, probably 5-7 times per week ideally) and I wanna take some supplements to maximize my results and make my workouts most effective; because basically I'm really sick of being small. What would you guys recommend for me?

get good diet . A good diet is the best thing to get if ur new and want to build good quality muscle. Stick to basic exercises like bench, squat , deadlifts and overhead shoulderpresses ... and work on isolation movements after , basic exercisea give the most reward :)

At 110lbs you need to start eating.mi am only 5'7" so I can relate to being short. You have a good 50lbs you can naturally put on your frame. Really focus on eating whole foods like chicken, fish, whole eggs, oatmeal, rice, veggies, coconut oil, peanut or almond butter. Just eat and train. And then eat some more.

The biggest factor in determining your success (or lack there of) with your physique and fitness goals is going to be your diet and training. I would do a very simple 3 day per week split where you split up your body into push/pull/legs. CONSISTENCY is everything. You need to keep going to the gym week after week, month after month to see results.

Day 1 train chest shoulder triceps
Day 2 train back biceps rear
Day 3 train legs and abs

Just 3 days per week, every week. That is very manageable and easy to maintain long term.

Stick with the 'bread and butter' supplements:
1. A high quality protein powder

2. A fish oil

3. A high quality multivitamin
http://needtobuildmuscle.com/store/H...s-3D-p311.html
4. Creatine
http://needtobuildmuscle.com/store/P...ngth-p273.html

You could add a BCAA supplement to the above list but it isn't required. http://needtobuildmuscle.com/store/P...GEAR-p149.html

A good natural testosterone booster would be a good addition as well, if budget permits: http://needtobuildmuscle.com/store/Cycle-Support/HCGenerate-ES-p238.html

Stick to the basics. A proper diet, HARD training and consistency is what is going to give you the results you are after. Not some fancy pre-workout drink.

I was almost as small as you when I was a teenager too.

what changed my physique was compound lifts and being consistent in the weight room. try and eat healthy and in a slight caloric surplus everyday. the results will come you have to be patient.. the hours you put into the weight room now while you are young will pay dividends when you get my age. now it is easy for me to put on muscle and strength because of the time I put in the gym when I was your age

I find once you get into a routine it is easier to keep it going. You might need more motivation close to home. Get a set of weights at home. If you don't already have a stable routine going to a gym can be daunting for some people especially having to travel a long distance to get to your workout. I have weights at home, they are always near by me. When ever I look them I just wana pick them up. For someone who finds it hard to get into a routine bring the workout as close to home as possible. Go to Walmart buy some weights. You'll never regret it ever again. Its so easy and so many people don't even make it that far and they never get around to exercising. Eating is another huge factor. If you used to eat 2 eggs for breakfast, eat 4 now.

^^^if he wants to buy a weight set at home a good place would be craiglist or another site like that. there are some sick deals.. you could easily buy a nice setup for under $500 if you were willing to put in the effort and negotiate a bit with these people.. a lot of the sellers are just trying to get rid of what they perceive as 'junk'

but if the OP is going to move and go to college etc. he is best off getting a gym membership or working out at his college gym. when I was in college my gym at school was free and it had everything I needed

It is indeed very easy to get for a really low price. I got myself a set of dumbells, with variable weight and that can get converted into a barbell, for under 200 USD. Therefore, if you want to workout at home, it is pretty economic, and in fact, I love doing so - got my own shower at home, have my own music, it is easier to write down all the reps on the computer, and there are many more benefits. Besides, you save time by not having to go to the gym.

I would say training at a gym has more motivation. Other people, newly made gym-buddies and old friends who also go there really give a kick in the ass motivation-wise. Also, you wont be slacking around next to other people. And boy oh boy it feels nice to get growing and getting those pumps when people are mirin, haha.

Muskate gave you a huge outline which you could follow. Diet, training and consistency are the key things you should keep reminding yourself to follow. Results do not happen overnight, and it takes years. But it certainly pays off.

A year and a half ago I was 6'2" and 135lbs. Literally best thing to do is basics like everyone says. That's exactly what I would go back and tell myself because I wasted alot of time watching body building workouts and shit like that when basic lifts and diet was what I should have put time into. Eat clean and eat balanced. Squat, deadlift, and bench (push, pull, legs works great too) and just grind. 100% best advice that I didn't really listen to for the first 8 or 9 months. But now I'm a little heftier 200lbs. And another thing, if you're eating clean and balanced and you notice you're gaining a little fat, don't immediately cut back calories. Increase cardio to burn excess instead so you dont leave muscle gains at a standstill. Goodluck bro.

1 overcome the anxiety of being skinny
2 challenge yourself each time you work out
3 eat big, but clean
4 drink a lot of water. It makes up as much as 70% of your muscle.
5 stay focused on the task at hand
6 focus on compound lifts
7 get a bodyspace account
finally, good luck, bro.

I strongly agree with this quote that is everywhere....

"We are what we repeatedly do, success is not an action but a habit"

Anything new is uncomfortable, feels strange etc....but if you keep doing it day after day, week after week....it becomes normal.

Set goals....There really is no better feeling then reaching them

At your stats forget supplements as your biggest benefit right now would be eating tons of food. High quality proteins and carbs. At least 5 to 6 meals a day and train with heavy weights. You'll be surprised how fast you grow.
