Bacteria question

This is a more a question regarding bacteria and safety, I guess.

Last week I mixed the two amps that come with hcg by using a needle to put the bacteriostatic water in the amp with the HCG. I then suctioned all of the HCG up with that needle. After I switched the needles and was done with everything, I removed the needle and wrapped the syringe in a napkin and a couple plastic bags and put it into the fridge because it still had some more HCG in it.

My question is, if I do not have a needle on the syringe and I'm storing it in the fridge, could bacteria have entered the syringe?

when you breathe bacteria goes in your mouth, when you are at the gym you are touching tons of bacteria along with other peoples urine and feces. in fact they studied shopping carts and found they contained a lot of feces on them.

people are way too paranoid about this stuff.. you aren't going to die if you get bacteria in you

Like Steve said even when you do this in the most careful and accurate way you won't be able avoid all the bacteria in the world.
I completely understand your concern and I am happy to see how diligent you are but don't over-stress this stuff.

Correct. You aren’t going to die but yes bacteria can and will enter the needle. I wouldn’t sweat it.

Yes. That is not a sanitary storage procedure. I would not use that syringe.

Next time, put a needle tip on the syringe before storing so no air can enter the syringe

I agree completely. Sterility is a huge concern for needles that go through your tissue. This isnt the same thing as touching a doorknob or a bench through skin contact.

I sure as hell would worry about it, Because ive seen it in my emergency department. I remember some meathead checked in and had cellulitis clear down from his shoulder to his forearm from unsanitary injecting practices. On top of cellulitis, the worst case scenario would be necrotizing fasciitis. a few bacteria would love that warm, nutrient dense environment in your muscle/dermal layer.
