Busted for $110 worth of gear

What I don't understand is that, although he was a college football player, there is absolutely no indication of his having had a history of purchasing gear online. Contrast that with the fact that US Customs has sent no fewer than five (5) confiscation notices to me over the past eight years and with no further action. So do you suppose he was singled out for his being a college football player?

College Football Player Busted For Ordering Steroids Online

A Carroll College Saints football player has been caught ordering illegal anabolic steroids online, after his pack was intercepted by customs and border protection.

Jordan Jernigan, who plays for Carroll College Saints in Montana, ordered oral steroids online with a friend who attended Montana State University (MSU). The popular oral steroids they ordered were; Strombafort (Winstrol) and Danabol (Dianabol). These oral steroids are manufactured by well-known Moldova based underground lab (UGL) – Balkan Pharmaceuticals. Balkan is operated by Alin, who started British Dragon in early 2001, only for it to break up and him to start Balkan Pharmaceuticals.

Jernigan and his accomplice decided to order the orals, hoping to avoid steroid injections and put together and oral only steroid cycle. The first pack of 600 Danabol tablets was shipped to him successfully in December 2014, but the second pack of Strombafort (Stanozolol) was delayed as it was out of stock.

strombafort1This second pack of Winstrol proved Jernigan’s undoing, as the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement in New Jersey (DHS-NJ) intecepeted the 600 steroid pills from Moldova. This is a risk all illegal steroid users take when ordering from international or overseas steroid sources. Moldova is also a high-risk country and postal envelopes and packs will be more scrutinised than a package from the Unites Kingdom for example.

Once the orals were analysed and found to contain a controlled substance (anabolic steroids), a sting operation was setup by law enforcement agencies and postal inspectors to bust Jernigan.

A controlled delivery was organised, hoping that Jernigan would sign for the package and admitting his guilt of importing anabolic steroids into the USA.

The DHS office in Helena, Helena Police Department, Missouri River Drug Task Force (MRDTF) and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service organised for the pack to be delivered as Jernigan expected and for surveillance to watch his every move.

Since the pack was addressed to Jernigan in Carroll College, investigators waited in the mailroom and for Jernigan to come and sign for the pack. Officers didn’t have to wait long before he arrived and promptly signed for the illegal package. Jernigan was then arrested and taken into custody.

Faced with multiple charges relating to steroid possession and importation felonies, Jernigan ratted out his MSU friend immediately. Jernigan explained that he had given $110 to his friend to buy steroids online, and the order was also placed by his friend, but shipped to his College address.

Wanting to cooperate with police further, he even told officers the remainder of the 600 Dianabol pills were in his dorm room, but he had only kept 182 before giving the rest to his MSU friend.

When his MSU friend found out about Jernigan’s arrest, he destroyed the oral steroids he had bought as part of the deal, but admitted he was involved in the illegal online purchase.

Because of this lengthy cooperation, Jernigan had his two original charges of criminal possession with intent to distribute both Winstrol and Dianabol, rolled into one count of steroid possession.

Jernigan pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a six month suspended prison sentence.

I think there is two, possibly unrelated, questions here.

1) why was this guy, or his parcel, singled out?

2) why did this get media coverage?

I think its entirely possible that with regards to (1), he is just damn unlucky. Lots of impersonal reasons why his delivery couldve got singled out.

With (2), well, who in the general population cares if some Average Joe Nobody got busted importing "small time" quantites of AAS?

a good source knows how to get shit through customs. also he ordered it going to his school, very stupid thing to do.. don't order roids to a government institution, work, school, etc.

I could rant about this or that for pages on here but I will leave it at that.

they want to make an example out of this kid, hence why it is in the media and all that. in the long run stuff like this does work. although i bet there are tens of thousands of kids in his shoes who are ordering roids while in college.

bro thats because the pack comes from moldova...ALL 100% of packages from Moldova/romania is looked at by customs...thats the problem...plus i heard he was snitched on by his bro

That is indeed surprising to me that this news even got coverage - quite a mundane situation. Although I gotta point out that the source has messed this up as well. Had they been more prudent and careful, this would not have happened.

That makes a lot of sense. I don't think I should become complacent over the fact that my gear is delivered to a private residence rather than a government facility, but that does make sense and I feel better for it.

No need to go abroad anymore....that's a thing of the past.

i would argue the opposite. domestic sources are getting busted left and right and closing shop daily, leaving customers out to dry. they usually will selective scam for a few months then once people catch on close up shop for good. it is happening bigtime. the ones who are still in business keep lowering prices and quality of gear to keep up with competition from bathtub gear makers.

remember who the attorney general of the US is now is. a guy who is against even medical marijuana for children who are dying from cancer. he is the most anti-drug AG in modern times.

Without a referral you don't get served...my guy don't fuck with nobody that's not checked out...you gotta know some one and that's not even a 100% foolproof for him....sad day when they want to lock you up for building muscles....for personal satisfaction...what's the crime..I may be hurting myself...give me a break

I think the main reason he got busted is because he tried to have it mailed to his school. That creates a great media story and obviously the school doesn't want to be labeled as a 'pro-doping school'

I feel bad for the kid. I am sure everyone else on his football team was using steroids as well but he's the unlucky one that got caught and has his name dragged into the media.

I noticed that in the original article and deemed it interesting because all five of the seizure letters that I have received over the years stemmed from packages sent from China rather than Moldova, and the majority of my shipments have been sent from Moldova. I suppose it is all matter of luck. But it is my understanding that the US Customs office within SFO (San Francisco International Airport) sports the agency's highest rate of interdictions. And, given that I live in California, all said seizure letters were sent from SFO. Ergo, it has been my experience that where a package is shipped to within the U.S. is more of a determining factor vis-a-vis the possibility of seizure than is country of origin. That is why I have actually come to demand from my source that my packages be sent from Moldova or India; knowing that those packages will go through Customs in NY City which has yet to seize any of my packages. Thus far I'm batting 1.000.

brother anything possible...i dont doubt a thing...but last i heard from evo brothers...moldova/romania/india all packs are looked at heavy....so high chance of loss...but its up to our brothers where to buy

So I suppose this indeed a case of selective enforcement; that which can used against any one of us and at any time. Foreboding to be sure.

I am guessing they wanted to make an example out of this kid to protect the integrity of the school. It makes no sense otherwise that they would bust a guy for so little gear.

Given access to the internet I do despair sometimes at those attending college and apparently being of above average intelligence making foul-ups like this. Sites like our very own Evo can recommend sources which are not marked out as sending products from countries that the Feds will take a look at. Ditto still being caught by having to sign for products and being arrested. Note how he even dropped his buddy in the sh*t too. Anyone who has spent time on forums and knows a bit on the subject will tell you it's almost comical how classic this all is.

That would make sense to me were it not for the fact that no college or university has ever made such an example out of a campus rapist - in fact, virtually all of these institutions go out of their way to coverup instances of campus rape in order to protect the "integrity" of their schools.

They've not covered them up so well that we've never heard of any.

They've not covered them up so well that we've never heard of any.

Indeed. Yet these institutions always do their best to coverup instances of campus rape. When we do hear about such instances, never is it due to these college's and university's administrators who always act to protect the nominal integrity of these institutions. So I think that it only stands to reason that, with an eye toward protecting their reputations, these schools would also do their best to coverup their students use of steroids.

Ergo, I'm thinking that this particular college had nothing to do with this kid's arrest. I'm thinking that was US Customs that set out to make an example of him. And that is damned frightening .
