Diving while on cycle?

I'm fairly heavy into spearfishing, freediving & scuba. I'm getting ready to run a cycle and my wheels started spinning about some things I've heard in the past. This isn't my first cycle but will be my first that coincides with diving.

I've read that while on cycle, your body's nitrogen levels increase. That isn't harmful in itself but I'm curious to hear opinions on weather or not that will make diving more dangerous. If the cycle just elevates nitrogen levels, I don't think its a problem. If it prohibits my body from releasing nitrogen, that could pose a big problem.

I remember being told not to do high intensity cardio after a day of diving because it's possible to get bent from the build up of nitrogen in your system.

Im wondering if I should just stay somewhat shallow and increase my surface intervals just to be safe.

For the non divers that are reading this with their heads turned like a dog when they don't understand:
Getting "bent" (decompression sickness) is bad shit that can happen when nitrogen forms bubbles in your body. When you dive, your body absorbs nitrogen faster than it can release it. If you ascend too fast and don't give your body enough time to safely discharge the nitrogen, bad shit happens.

My dive computer does all the math to keep things safe, but won't account for any elevated nitrogen in my body prior to diving.

Maybe the increased nitrogen from the cycle is very low and I'm overthinking it but I figued its better to ask and not risk a ride in a decompression chamber.
 
Yes, you are OK with diving. The AAS will increase nitrogen in muscle tissue, but not in a gas bubble form. When the nitrogen is in your blood stream, that can cause a problem but that is related to what you are breathing while at depth.

Just to be sure, make sure that you do your 5min @ 5m safety stop on every dive.

A common cause of "bends" is dehydration, often from diving after a long flight. Keep your fluids up, be sensible, don't push the DCS limits.
 
thank you for the responses. I have the diving safety under control. I've dove commercially for lobster, commercially for research & recovery (AKA treasure hunting), and have worked a couple dive boats. The additional nitrogen is what had me worried but that's been alleviated, thanks again.
 
I don't see a problem with t at all. Actually on cycle you have more nitrogen retention, so that could actually help you
 
not to get cute but I was on a tren cycle and went offshore fishing one time and i got hit hard with seasickness and my urine turned almost black.. so that is the only thing i can see effecting you, just don't get seasick if you are on a harsh AAS cause it could get ugly if you are throwing up for hours on end
 
I would think that you would be more worried about nitrogen narcosis not the bends. The bends are from coming up too fast. Just stick to your charts and times you should be good as long as you don't over do it. I got it once tried it on purpose, not a good idea. It was like the worst hangover I have ever had x10. I was like a drunk kid, retarded, luckly I had 3 other scuba buddies to help me out of the water. I was down to 90 feet too long. Got lots of lobsters though.
 
This is awesome! Great thread you guys, I've been diving a few times down in Florida Keys, but was way before I ever cycled. I love learning cool stuff like this. Keep it up fellers.
 
Hell yea, its reassuring to hear that its safe. thanks again everyone. I doubt my female instructor would have been knowledgeable on the subject, lol.
