Donating Plasma on Gear...

This might seem like a stupid question, but does anyone or has anyone ever had problems when running gear and donating plasma?

I use to donate then stopped for a while. They called and want me to come back and start donating again, but thought I should check with you guys first.

There is no problem at all donating while on any sort of AAS. I would actually recommend donating specifically if you are going to run AAS regularly because of the increase in RBC that it creates. I donate religiously every 8 weeks to help keep my blood numbers in check, and it's for a great cause as well. Your blood is only tested for infectious diseases so there is no concern about the gear. It will not negatively affect any recipient of your blood either, because they only draw one pint from you at a time and the amount of active compound in that pint is very miniscule.

Of course you will have to lie on a couple of the questions in the questionnaire or they will not let you donate.

I haven't donated blood since the military. I'm thinking about donating plasma and blood because I won't see my doctor again until March, 2015 for a blood test! YIKES!!!
I've got to keep a eye on my WBC, RBC, and Hemacrit. So I'm off first thing Tuesday.

she is talking about donating plasma guys.. its not like donating blood (what we are used to)

plasma donations are totally different and you are paid for it

honestly I don't see why it would be a problem, but I have never done it. used to be a place near my gym that was plasma donations and it had a lot of homeless and poor people there, seems like its something a lot of people who are desperate for money do so I can't imagine its a pleasant thing.

I am like rick I give regular blood donations usually ever 2 months, its fast and easy.

With plasma they' spin the blood down and give you back your rbc.

I am glad every time I see that other people also give blood. I give every 8 wks as well and have been for 6+ yrs. and your right it's for a very good cause.

I have never given plasma. But I have head that it unpleasant for sure. I think it's awesome anytime someone donates for the good of others though.

Save your plasma. Dontate double RBC!
I actually did double RBC my last donation. Its very good to do if your RBC is elevated like after running EQ or something. The con is that you have to wait double the time (16 weeks) before donating again

Ya, kicks my ass for the same day too. I make sure to get it done early morning on an off day when i can just chill at home and eat my meals for the rest of the day, mini naps are so fufilling on those days :p

Plasma and blood are two different things. Donating plasma COULD HINDER YOUR GAINS. Usaually people that donate plasma do it twice a week. They pay you $50 a donation. Does not seem like much but do the math. Thats $400 a month. I did this while going through college. Here is the thing. Your plasma is primarily water and protein based. When you donate, they repenish your plasma with sodium chloride. In other words, they put pack the water and salt WITH OUT THE PROTEIN. Even thou your body bounces back fast to restore its plasma protein levels, who knows WHAT AFFECT THIS HAS ON PROTEIN SYNTHESIS and growing muscle.

I would have to agree with you there. Donating whole blood with plasma every 8 weeks is great for you, but donating plasma only on a weekly or biweekly basis could have a profound negative effect on progress

Interesting - never thought of this.

Like you (and many other poor college souls) I did this through college. Oddly enough I still made great gains and was natty all through college.

I didn't do it 2x per week tho. Maybe 2x per month.
