Heart attack/Almost sh** myself

Being a natural blonde I did not know what "vanish point" syringes were. I ran out last week and ordered these. I was doing my twice weekly test injection (500mg Test E), when pushing the very last bit in I heard a "SNAP!!" and a weird feeling.. I looked down and saw that the needle was GONE and immediately thought I broke off the needle into my leg. After almost throwing up/sh***ng my pants, having a heart attack I realized that the needle shot up into the syringe after being fully injected. I'm sitting here still shaking from the terror. If anyone needed a good laugh today, I hope this provides it. Meanwhile, my nerves are shot. hahaha

Bro - just fyi even if a needle did snap off in you there is not a whole lot to be alarmed about. Most likely the needle would be encapsulated in tissue and then move through the body breaking it down until it is no more. I don't really see the hassle of an ER doc opening up a glute or V glute to remove a tiny needle that as long as it was clean should not cause infection. This happens more often then you think even with gauges up to 25. Diabetics - those needles are so flimsy that there are countless cases of people snapping one off in there stomach and they turn out just fine with no visit to the ER.

Really? That needle tip wouldn't continue to tear and rip tissue? My ass is getting it taken out if that happens lol!

No - its not quite what you think - essentially the needle is going to be encapsulated in a tissue like capsule that will protect it from damaging other areas - this is impart to the fact that the body recognizes that its a foreign object that does not need to be present and will encapsulate it in order to break it down and move it to areas that it can be further broken down. Most likely if this ever happens - good luck getting the needle back unless you can squeeze it out - and slicing open layers of flesh to remove one small needle that your body will essentially eat sounds way more painful than just waiting it out. Just monitor the area where the needle disapered - keep it clean - if you can not squeeze it out then just leave it alone - the body is super resilient and will break that needle down.

Idk how long it would take for a stainless needle to break down but I would want it out. Lol glad it didn't actually break. Ive never seen one of those.

Use the retractable needles are more expensive and they are designed to cut down on infection waste hazard disposal (cross contamination)

Yea. Stainless would take a while right.. Scares me.. I'll just get it extracted.. Better yet, don't let it break off inside you lol.. Leave small amount outside of your body.

I can tell All you Guys quite Honestly.
It's damn near Impossible to break-off a Needle during an Injection.
They are Designed to Bend, and Not Break.

You would Literally have to Bend the Needle Back and Forth while it's in the Muscle, to get it to Break....................................... JP
P.S.
Don't believe me.
Try it with an Old Needle and see how many times you need to Bend the Needle Back and Forth before it Breaks-off.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but the human can actually breakdown and dispose of a piece of stainless steel?

haha i would s**t myself to. bet your heart was in your mouth, ive never heard any stories of the needle shooting into the syringe, glad your ok tho :)

No your body actually will make a sort of scar tissue around it and it will slowly be pushed to the surface. I have been a machinist for 16 years. I have had a piece of metal(stainless, hastalloy, etc.) come out of my hand and finger numerous times.

Why trip out bro? chill everything is going to be alright, but that is funny.

Those needles are used on kids and infants, I was tripping out on them when my son got Vaccinated.

Wow lmao that would have scared me too. Glad you're alright though. Hows the price on those?

Yeah I was wondering why there was a little spring in there.. all makes sense now!!! And I paid $9.99 for 25 3cc syringes with 25g 1inch needles. Pretty neat idea, the spring snaps back the needle into the syringe at the end.

Damn that was scary! I really felt it for you as I was reading along!

And what will happen if you sit on your ass with the needle still inside?

Yeah this thread is gross - and scary all in one. Just call up any place where you can talk to an educated nurse - this happens to diabetics and others who administer injections themselves. As JP stated it takes a lot to break a needle - it can happen - especially if that needle is attached to like an insulin syringe right. Never discount the resiliency of the human body.

i just ran the bending needle test this morning after my injection.

With the B&D syringe you must bend the needle back and forth from 90 degrees to almost 180 and than slightly twist and tug in order to break the needle off. This was a 25g 1"

Glad you are safe buddy. Good reminder to be very careful with injections. After a while we all start to get lazy with your technique.

Every injection should be just like your first injection. Super paranoid and anal with the technique.

wouldn't it hurt when you moved around though?
