If you are training to be strong do you need as much supplementation and calories as you would if training purely for hypertrophy? Maybe a newbie question but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys

the more you weigh the stronger you hypotehtically can be.. there is a reason in wrestling, boxing, weightlifting, MMA there are weight classes right?

now if you don't care and just want to 'get strong' and be one of those perma bulkers at the gym who are strong/fat types then eat away, the more the merrier.. eat often and eat loose

but if you want to stay lean you need to eat clean and lower meal frequency

It really depends on what kind of look you want to have. You can get strong if you train properly for strength. If you want to get really really strong then you might have to be a big fat. All depends on how lean you want to be.

Strength training requires less calories because you do less total work per workout. Thus less calories burned.

Work = load x volume. bodybuilders do a lot more work then powerlifters because they train with higher reps
