Injection deepness

Hello guys!

I've had this problem this morning. I usually use a 1" needle for injections, and do them into the glutes. I inject myself, and usually I have no problems. However, on the left cheeck it is more problematic for me - guess my left hand is not as agile as the right one. Long story short, after finishing the injection I realized that the needle was only half way through, which is roughly 0.5". Everything was sterile and cleand with alcohol before and after the injection. Will that be a problem for me? Should I give the gear I have injected for lost? I am doing sustanon 250.

I'm not sure what your stats are, but not getting the injection deep enough in to the muscle is one cause of PIP. I'm not so sure I would do an extra pin if this only happened once. If your not such a big person a 1" needle would be fine, but if your at least average, a 1.5" would be sure to get deep in to the muscle for less pip.

The gear is not lost so don't worry there. If anything, you could possibly develop an abscess. Just keep an eye out for swelling. As long as you were sterile, you should not be at risk for infection. If you get an abscess, there is no danger, just a bump.

Usually 1/2" is deep enough for an Injection.
Just not the Optimum Depth for a Large Muscle like the Glute.
So long as the Injection Site doesn't get Red and Hot to the touch.
You should be fine.................................................. JP

Unless you are a fairly high body fat, 0.5' should been deep enough to penetrate the muscle. If you didn't penetrate the muscle and injected into the fat, an abcess will develop. It's basically a pocket of oil under the skin. It isn't particularly serious, you just need to get it drained. DONT try to do it yourself. Go to a medicentre or your family doctor and have it professionally done. If an abcess does develop, you will have to redo the injection because the oil didn't get absorbed.

If you wake up tomorrow and no abcess developed, the injection worked fine and you are good to go.

I have done this many times, where injecting in my ass the needle seemed to really hurt going in or I wasn't paying attention and the needle ended up almost coming all the way out again. The times that it seemed to hurt when trying to get the needle in I just said screw it and injected, it was prob in about 1/2" and Def not buried into the muscle. The only thing that happened was because it was so close to the skin I developed a bubble from the oil that felt hot to the touch which lasted about a day. I never got an absess or infection and it was fine.

Also I have read articles online where they debate between injecting steriods for TRT either in the muscle or inject sub Q. And from what I have read the steriod does still get absorbed if injected sub Q and did not have a noticeable change in test levels.

I would not worry and just continue your injection schedule as normal. Just keep an eye out at that site for change in color like obvious signs of bruising or if it really hurts and doesn't get better after a day or so. It most likely will feel really hot to the touch like I already said, but typically all my injection sites feel hot after injecting.

There is no exact figure of how deep the needle should go in, so it is hard to tell. The worst thing that might happen is some abcess, but not necessarily. You just have to keep an eye on the injection site - if you don't notice any signs of infection of anything like that, there is no reason to be worried. I imagine that some PIP would be a normal thing with such an injection, but yet again - nothing to worry about.

I use slin pins that are 1/2" and that seems to work fine

Are you doing TRT or doing a cycle on your own? What is your dose that your injecting each time?

I'm just curious. While I'm sure the OP will be fine for just injecting 1/2" this one time, I wouldn't make a habit of it. I can just imagine injecting 2mls sub-Q all the time where one will develope welts and it will starting becoming really painfully at injection sites. Also greater chances of having the gear leak back out once the needle is pulled.

I use 1.5" and stick it as far as possible in my butt, leaving just enough room that if the needle were to break i could pull it out, shoulders i do 1" and leave it a slight bit out. I've had an abcess before and they're not fun, id rather go as deep as possible.

so is the 1'' the preferred needle length?? and if I understand correctly you supposed burry the whole 1'' with no space??

IMO using a 1" needle is fine for every injection site, even in the glutes,

Try not to bury it while injecting, the reasoning being that if the needle itself was defective and broke off from the plastic part you will be able to grab it and pull it out. Again I have never heard aboit this happening, but I'd prefer to be able to pull it out if it ever were to happen.

I have actually bent a needle as I was injecting. I started shaking so bad just because of I was nervous about a needle in me, I had so much pressure on that thing that when I was done and pulled it.out it was bent and I was surprised that it didn't break off.

Good point I have also had one friend had his needle snap off and luckily it was not all the way in and could pprick it out
