Lifting heavy while fasted

I read Steve,s Cutting book and he recommends to train first thing in the am, before eating. I also read online that strength training or lifting heavy on a empty stomache is bad. I do believe Steve logic and will start to train fasted, but wanted to hear your opinions on it, will we loose strength because of the lower calories, and since we don’t need a pre workout what advice or suggestion do you give , and what has worked for you guys ?

It depends on your goals. If you want to gain strength and/or size then training fasted isn't going to be the best option. If you want to lose fat or just be lean and healthy then training fasted makes a lot of sense.

You'd have eaten the night before and, of course, can become conditioned to training on empty - it'll just take a while

If your goal is to gain muscle - don't train fasted
If your goal is to cut - training fasted is fine

my book actually never says you are supposed to train AM fasted. i think maybe you mis-construed the point i was making

if you train 2pm and want to intermittent fast, then fast the entire day, workout.. then eat AFTER. that is the best way to do it to tap into health and your mind..

it is also a myth that you can't train fasted and go heavy. I went 19 days without food and trained just fine. my strength went down only a little, but when i came off my strength was HIGHER than before. obviously if your goals are strength training you want to eat more and gain more mass right? it boils down to what your goals are.
