Lifting Music

Metallica, AC/DC, that song 46 & 2 by Tool, and mostly old school stuff that has balls. Today's new stuff... I'll leave that topic alone.

Hey look up " Rob bailey and the hustle standard" trust me.. you will be glad you did!

Way to bump an almost 1 year old thread. No, really for serious. Looked them up and I had no idea they existed. Just downloaded 2 albums for the same price it would cost some ass-clown to download one Bruno Mars album.

Suspended by the throat - job for a cowboy, reign of darkness - thy art is murder, I'm broken- pantera, st. anger - Metallica. If I'm in the mood for a little hip hop...till I collapse- eminem & Nate dogg, lebron james - yo gotti, bugatti - ace hood

As my username suggests...only the heaviest of the heavy for me. I throw in some easy listening like Slipknot and Pantera to the mix.

I was supposed to see LP with Rise Against but Chester got injured.

Pantera, Guns n Roses, Slash, a7x, STP, RATM, Slayer, BLS to name a few
That sounds like my pandora.

Since I started doing push ups at 13, I've always had Going the Distance by Bill Conti running. Back then it was a cassette!

This is going to sound unusual but I typically listen a news broadcast (NPR) or a podcast when I am lifting. For some reason it helps me to forget how heavy is the freaking dumbbell. When I am doing cardio my preference is Stand up comedy. running and laughing at the same time is a great abs workout. haha.

Hip hop & metal for me
but lately ive been on slow music & keeps me focused guess anything works

Pantera ,Megadeath,Kiss, anything that pumps you up a little! My youngest works out with me @ 19 and he is always trying to put that damn shit some of you are liking where they sound like they need throat spray after they squeal !!
Just as long as they don't put country or dance muscic in i am game:cool:

This is a great post....I forgot my ipod at the gym today. What a freaking mistake ....wow the music at the gym definitely made me 20 lbs weaker. It was worse "on hold" music. Yes anything old school hard. ..80's music (the 80's will never die) ....

Can't really do music while I lift if it's headphones. Otherwise if there's a big speaker I'll plug the ol' phone in to the John Denver radio.

I pretty much listen to a variety of different genres, hip hop, metal, house, etc.

A lot of Every Time I Die, superb technical hardcore band.

Dillinger Escape Plan, Haken, Porcupine Tree, Between the Buried and Me, etc.

As for hip hop... Reks, Sean Price, Kendrick Lamar, Army of the Pharaoh's, Joell Ortiz, early Atmosphere, etc.

House... Bloody Beetroots, Deadmau5, Wolfgang Gartner, Clockwork, Michael Woods.

All kinds of stuff, depends on the mood.

If that is the kind of hardcore you like...check that play list I posted above. It's full of ETID and stuff like it. I have a good hip hop playlist too. We pretty much like the same stuff.

Seems you have got good taste there man. I'm a music junkie, went to school for engineering/production actually.

Anyway. Got a new-ish band that I'd like to recommend that is phenomenal, for the heavy music fans at least..

Palm Reader, new album is called Besides the Ones We Love. Simply put, outstanding.

I'll def check that out. Good look. You should check out this band called Deteriorist...pretty unique post metal (buried inside/cloudkicker/deftones)/grind (rotten sound/fuck the facts)/mathy hardcore (botch/etid) with a female vocalist. You can the whole EP deteriorist.bandcamp.com or I can email you a zip. I won't confirm or deny if I am a member or not. Lol.

Also, cult leader and suburban scum are on point right now.

If you are in that band, big ups man. Great sound, I very much dig it.

Man, I was listening to Botch the other day, wish they were still together.

Ever hear Khoma? Its members from Cult of Luna but with clean vocals instead of growls. Great shit, can't get enough of their album The Second Wave.

Although all of their albums are solid. Not Cult of Luna amazing but still damn good.
