Hi guys, I'm planning to lose weight and I heard diets are a duble edge sword , once yo stop , the lost wight comes right back, so eating right is way better than dieting true?

that is partially true but only because people eat good and then go back to eating shitty

if you want to lose weight forever you need to change up your lifestyle.. this means completely changing the way you view food and changing the way you eat and the amount of food you eat. stop treating food like a treat

time to clean out your freezer and pantry of all that crap

The amount of weight gained will depend on how much you overeat, I now try to keep weight gain down to 1lb per month.

You need treat this as a lifestyle change rather than thinking of it as a diet, eat a balanced healthy diet regardless of whether you are in a caloric deficit or surplus and just adjust your calories based on current goals. For example I know my maintenance calories so when I cut I tend to drop my calories under maintenance by between 250 and 500 (250 if I up my step count by 5000 per day, 500 if no extra walking is added) and when in a gaining phase I up calories by 100 to 150

The #1 mistake people make is they approach weight loss as a diet and not as a lifestyle. Once they reach their goal weight, they go back to their old way of eating so of course they gain all the weight they lost back. They resort back to their old bad habits.

I hate the word diet. It's all about making healthy eating a lifestyle. Diets DO NOT work.

And the missing letters ha ha :D

No. It's just that people go back to what they did before - inc the calories which supported the larger person they once was.

In reality, though, it’s not eating in the evening that stops you losing weight as what many people used to believe that eating in the evening makes the body store more fat because it is not burned off with activity as it's bedtime.

In fact, it’s consuming too many calories throughout the day that will be your dieting downfall. Regardless of when you consume those calories, consuming fewer calories than you burn each day will help you in losing weight. The only thing that will stop you losing weight is if the calories in your evening meal added to the calories you've eaten during the day equal more than the calories you've burned during the day. For a fact, if you take in fewer calories than you need, your body starts to use up its fat stores to get the extra calories it needs to keep functioning properly and overtime, it will lead in weight loss.

Scientists also believe that while we might inherit ‘fat’ genes from our parents, we also inherit their bad habits such as a poor diet and lack of exercise – and it’s these poor lifestyle habits that have a more important part to play in weight gain.

Dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt are actually packed with essential nutrients that help to keep us healthy. Dairy products are packed with calcium, a mineral that helps to build strong, healthy bones, and the stronger bones you have, the lesser tendency of experiencing to suffer from the bone-thinning disease, osteoporosis in later life, as well as being good sources of protein, zinc and some B vitamins. Most importantly, several studies show that low-fat dairy products can help us to lose weight thanks to the calcium they contain.

One important thing to keep in mind when exercising is that everyone has different goals being set and above all, have different bodies. Genetically, our muscle types and fiber proportions are already determined.

Good reply. But... we can, if only to some degree, change the ratio of fiber type. Our bodies are, as you infer, suited to some activities more than others by fiber type but we can and do adapt.

the calorines in and out thing is a good blueprint, but it isn't as black and white as you think. there is more to it trust me. there IS a timing element involved. that is why intermittent fasting works so well, and a big one is insulin vs. glucagon.

also dairy does not provide your body calcium, that is a myth. it actually ROBS the body of calcium. I haven't consumed dairy in 20 years. yet people drink milk daily and get osteoperosis all the time. why is that? it is because dairy is an acid in the body .. you want to get your calcium from veggies, not dairy. the dairy industry pushed that calcium myth for years, but it has been debunked. the dairy industry is a scam

bodybuilders leading up to a show know better than to consume dairy. not only will it bloats you, add fat, but it also is inflammatory in the body. not good! we aren't babies, no reason to consume dairy as adult mammals
