Tips for a Firefighter

i’m 22 I’ve always been strong and I’ve always worked out and I’ve recently been losing a lot of weight so that I can perform better butAs I’ve been advancing in my career, I’ve noticed a huge dip in my energy levels and just overall testosterone levels due to being on a busy department and getting a lack of sleep. I plan on getting my blood work done before I start anything just to not cause any issues. But what are some things that I could do more research on thatll elevate my body and strength overall. I do not want to dip into bodybuilding as firefighting and bodybuilding typically aren’t always best together, but I’m an active person. I do the best I can to get as much sleep as I can and I work out every day with a day off each week. I listen to my body if I feel I’m too tired or too sore. I either take it lightly or take the day off, but I’m pretty consistent on my diet and routine once again. I do not plan on hopping on anything right away as I want to get my blood work tested and I want to do more research. What are some things that would enhance my career but not interfere and damage my breathing or health issues.

welcome to the EVO family :D @MachoMan61 you look good in the pic nice pumped side chest :D love it!
At 22 with sleep and shift work, the biggest enhancer is getting your training and recovery structured so you’re not just spinning your wheels tbh.
we need to start with basic labs like CBC, CMP, lipids, thyroid, total and free T, SHBG, e2, ferritin, and vitamin D.

Start a simple log now with sleep hours, bodyweight, calories and protein, training sessions, steps or cardio, and how you feel each day so the EVO family can actually guide you toward a cycle and dial you in before. 15min of your time to start :D

HOW-TO LOG?

Why is a Log Journal important?

  • Doing a log will actually help you way more than just dropping random updates. When you lay it all out week by week you start to see patterns in your body that you won’t catch otherwise.
  • Other guys here run logs all the time and there’s no privacy issue, nobody is asking for your name or anything personal, it is just training, diet, and how the compound feels.
  • The feedback you get is also way better because people can follow along and spot things you might miss. It also helps the next guy who is thinking about running the same compound so you are giving back while you learn.
  • Even if you think you might not stick with it, just starting the log makes it easier to come back and add quick notes. That way you get more out of what you are running instead of keeping it all in your head.

To really guide you we need more info from you:
  • Please share your diet, training, cardio, sleep, supplements etc log with us in a NEW thread, full log journal so our guidance is based on facts you provide.
  • It will take 15-20 minutes max.
  • We have 100s of years of experience between us, so you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight, height, age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.
  • Please post a Log Journal asap for us

with sleep you should be wearing blue blocker glasses. make sure you test them out after you buy them there are a lot of fakes ones being sold. wear them before you are planning on sleeping. they will block blue light
also avoid caffeine that is a huge problem

Get your log going. Post up your diet and nutrition. I think that's going to help you tremendously stay consistent.

I like that you are willing to take a step back and get some advice on here. My advice right off the bat is, obviously, get a log going. My second advice is to check out the other logs. See what guys are doing, see their workouts, and see their diet. You'll get a lot of knowledge just from reading through the logs.

Definitely you can get blood work done but just keep in mind your body doesn't fully develop till your mid to late 20s in some instances so don't get freaked out over blood work.

Bros, as a firefighter, you're going to be really active. You want to make sure you stay agile. Maybe look at some peptides and some SARMs.
