I'm just new to training and supplements. Thinking of staying natural and just drinking protein avoiding all the supplements. Evo vets do you think this is a good idea? Wanted to king of feel things out since I'm a new guy.

Supplements are not necessary to build muscle. Supplements can increase the amount of muscle and strength you gain. If you want to avoid all supplements then do so. You would just get slightly better results with creatine and protein.

Truth be told - most supplements on the market are crap. That being said, there are some good stable supplements that will really benefit your training and are fairly inexpensive. Food is always priority #1 but a few good supplements like a multivitamin are an endurance policy that your body is getting all the daily vitamins/minerals it needs each day to stay healthy and build muscle .

Stick with the 'bread and butter' supplements:
1. A high quality protein powder

2. A fish oil

3. A high quality multivitamin

4. Creatine

Stick to the basics. A proper diet, HARD training and consistency is what is going to give you the results you are after. Not some fancy pre-workout drink.

While some supplements can be beneficial for you and helpful, they are not crucial, and you can perfectly grow and progress without them, so there is absolutely no problem in avoiding them. However, there are some natural supplements that really make a difference, and they do not affect your health. For instance, BCAA's and creatine really make a difference, and they are extremely safe to use.

Supplements are there just to supplement your diet. Then again, you say avoiding all supplements yet drinking protein. Sounds quite hypocritical to me, haha

the most important supplement you can have is WHOLE FOODS, water, and sleep

until you master those 3 thing you will spin your wheels forever

once you do master them then adding in supplements will enhance your performance.

I love the list musky has but i would swap in a great test booster like hcgenerate for the whey protein, only because you are already getting plenty of quality protein from your whole food diet so you don't need a shake.

I actually think this is a good idea for a new guy. It will force you to focus on your diet with whole foods and a good training program. This will be 95% of your success and results anyways. Supplements will only add that little bit extra. Great idea to get focused and learn first.
