I have noticed as I've gotten into my fifties, it's impossible to really get rid of bodyfat on my lower pecs and particularly under my arms leading back to my lats. I have done some research and found this to be fairly common for men my age. Anyone here had luck with getting rid of it? If so, what protocol worked? Dieting and clean eating just doesn't work for me anymore.

Bf stays between 10-15%

It's extremely difficult every year you get older my man.. I think it just takes consistency like with everything but you just have so much less room for error the older you get

50's? more like 30's..

we live in a society of too much meat/dairy and too little exercise. meat and dairy taste good.. steak and pizza are yum yum.. unfortunately it's making the country too fat.

at your age diet is crucial but so is exercise. the dudes who are lean at that age run almost everyday.. can you do a 15 minute jog every morning when you get up before breakfast?

I had that problem when I started my Comeback at Age 53.
I found that a Pullover Machine to finish off either Back or Chest, or I always Super-Set the 2, worked very well.
Concentrate on the Stretch part, be careful though....................... JP
P.S.
And for me, I had to keep on Adjusting my Diet, eating less and less carbs.
Now except for Sweet Potato, my Carbs are mostly Vegetables.
I still have some Oats in my Shake in the AM, but that's never more than 1/4 Cup, usually less.
I concentrate more on Good Quality Fats for Energy.

3-4 times a week I'm up at 4:30am for fasted cardio. This is the only thing that can get me down into the 12-14% bf range and get the fat out of those pesky areas that you mention.

You say your body fat is between 10-15%, sounds like you're doing pretty damn good to me for 53 years old!

Honestly no matter what age you are, it always comes down to diet and exercise. Its just sometimes and some ages you may have to work a little to get the result you did when you were younger. It might mean tightening the diet a little more or adding more cardio, but it can be done. I'm in my 40s now and things aren't as easy as my 30s, but I still get it done and get into a better shape than I've ever been all the time

I am 52 and facing exactly what you mention. Little fat "pockets" under the arms between the Peck and lats. I am using N2Slin and Yohimflame. Very strict diet at about 500 calories below maint. Cardio 6 morning a week before I lift. Slowly, ever so slowly the area and lower abs are getting smaller. I have been going strong on this approach for 6 months and finally got to 15% BF. I don't know any other secrets short of SmartLipo to get rid of these area's.

I have to agree with Steve. ...after baby#1...zero weight, it all fell off everything tighten right back up. ..baby 2...harder. baby 3...omg, I'm working my freaking ass off. I'm 29. The older we get the harder it is.

Thanks for the replies! Figured there might be others on here fighting it. I was able to keep things tight through mid forties but it's much tougher now. At 45 I achieved what I feel was the best shape of my life. Sure is getting tougher. No sugar, no bread, fasting cardio, and carb cycling are all things I do now, but man that last stubborn bit is frustrating. I'm thinkinh lipo is probably the next option. ..lol

just hit my 40's and it is hard for sure. the older I get the harder I know I have to push it, very little room for error. I was a triathlete so for me cardio has always been my saving grace.

I think there is a real "cliff" after 50... I think it becomes more than diet and cardio... I have been wondering about that SmartLipo.

I'm nearly fifty and for me the problem spot are love handles on the lower back. The fat calipers can can show nothing but skin in the front but it's built up around the other side.

Maybe it's partly genetic? I've never had fat anywhere near my pecs and little under the arms.

Definitely more challenging. I can gain weight thinking about it but much tougher to take off!

I agree...
