In this Podcast, Bodybuilding fans were shocked to learn that the Open Class has been officially cancelled at this year’s Chicago Pro. In this episode, Frank McGrath, Antoine Vaillant, and Morgan MacDonald discuss why the decision was likely made, and what it means for the athletes and the future of the show. From prize money and sponsorships to ticket sales and scheduling, we cover all the behind-the-scenes reasons that could’ve led to this unexpected move. Plus, we share stories from past shows, experiences traveling solo, and the importance of having support backstage.

Naps has some amazing content

what are those things that really makes little sense to me

this will have an impact on other shows I predict

now I don't think this will be a big deal just an isolated thing

we'll see what happens from here

It's been an insider thing for a while now, referred to in the show (saw it 2 days ago) where 'what you bring' is now being taken notice of. By way of example CBum with his 20m+ followers and Sam Sulak getting his pro card. However, as all those on AMA will know (being pros) the open class is what shows etc are founded on. Note also that 2 years ago, at the O, they were last on stage at 11pm

It follows the money losing Open Woman's. The ONLY reason that still exists is cos Jake Wood (now boss of the MrO - see also his Wings Of Strength) is a fan.

Bodybuilding is a dying industry. Its lost popularity at an alarming rate since the 90's while crossfit and powerlifting have exploded in popularity. I wouldn't pay to watch a bodybuilding contest and I paid a lot in my youth to see the Mr. Olympia in the first 10 rows in the VIP section.
