Do any of you use plant-based supplements from hemp, pea, rice, spirulina or other plant proteins? Or plant-based pre-workout powders bars or anything else that is non animal based?

What are your thoughts on plant-based supplements?

I recently cut out all dairy products from my diet and now use a plant based protein powder instead of whey.

There are a lot of really good plant based products on the market, the problem is that most have a lot of carbs in them. Not really an issue for someone like me with a fast metabolism but most people would do better off with a pure whey isolate since it's pretty much carb and fat free.

Vegan and plant based diets are great for health...but not great for bodybuilding. Animal protein is much more efficient at building muscle then plant protein.

a lot of them are loaded with sugar

I use a very low calorie greens powder 25 calories per scoop. that is as good as you can get

is it the same as eating real greens? of course not. but it is a nice way to hydrate in the morning

I don't use any in place of an animal product but there are plenty I take that have no animal products in them. I see no issue with a completely plant-based lifestyle to be honest.

Do you have any sources/studies that show that animal protein is more efficient at building muscle than plant protein? just curious especially after seeing vegan advocates and what not on youtube claim theres no difference in terms of muscle building and show examples of vegan Bodybuilders or people that claim to have put on more muscle in a plant based vs animal based diet so just curious always wanting to learn more.

Look up the biological value of animal proteins and vegan protein sources. Animal proteins are always much higher.
