PPL Routine

I've been doing KS98 PPL routine for 4-5wk now, and it's treated me pretty well.
I'm wondering though.....in a few different ppl routines including this one, why does the order of exercises go: flat bench, OHP, incline bench ???
Why not do incline before OHP for better overall chest development?
....what am I missing here?

I would do Incline Bench before Flat Bench.
I don't see any reason why you couldn't switch.

I do alot of Push/Pull Splits, and if I'm doing Bench, I always do Incline before Flat.............................. JP

Why would you do incline prior to flat?
Also I should note, I do incline DB presses instead of incline BB bench press because at my gym the incline benches aren't adjustable and too vertical imo. With the adjustable benches for DB presses I can really feel my upper pec getting blasted.

I do Incline Presses before Flat to Hit the Upper Pec with more Weight.

If I do Flat Bench 1st ~ I can't do Incline Presses with as much weight.

It all depends on what part of your Pec need Development more.

Sometimes, I do Pre-Exhaust with Chest Flyes.

You need to take an Honest look at your Body, and see what needs more attention................................. JP

I agree with @jp4355

If you look at 99% of lifters, they all have over developed lower pecks and under developed upper pecks. The upper pecks are what give the chest that really nice full and round look. I ALWAYS start my chest workouts with incline movements.

It's also safer. It is much easier to rip your peck when flat benching then incline benching.

I would do -
Incline bench
Flat bench
OHP
A tricep exercise you like

Perfect. Just what I was looking for. I was not sure if there was a reason behind doing OHP first ie greater muscle activation or something.

In the end it wont make a huge difference. I would just try to train lagging areas or focus areas earlier in the workout so you can go heavier. Basically what JP was saying about why he does incline before flat bench press.
