after my workouts i get a lot of lactic acid built up and it makes my muscles sore and hurt. what supplement can i take to reduce getting lactic acid built up? it hurts to sleep and walk around the next day lol. especially after a tough workout.

that isn't lactic acid buildup. that is classic BRO SCIENCE derived from some doctor in the 70's and it has been spread since

if you are in a car accident you are sore too. does that mean you got lactic acid buildup? lol.. think about how silly that is

you are hurting because you just stressed out your body and tore it up. your body is going to react by spitting out inflammation to heal itself. let it do its job without interference. the best way? good quality deep sleep. that is the thing 90% of people do not get.

You should also implement a nightly stretching routine. It will help with the muscles and also help you sleep better. Ideally you are doing it in the morning and also before bed.

Lactic acid is the burn you feel while lifting especially towards the end of a set. It subsides usually within 30 seconds. Soreness comes from breakdown of muscle tissue

That is not lactic acid build up at all. That happens while you are doing exercise and they switch over to anaerobic breakdown of glycogen for energy

If the soreness is that bad... try restructuring your routine. The point of a workout is to stimulate growth, not beat your muscles into submission and cause the maximum amount of soreness. Instead of a bro split, try a PPL where you’re splitting body part volume between two workouts. Much easier to recover from that. I actually train full body 5-7 days a week, which most people think is nuts. Key is just carefully balancing the volume.

All that, of course, if you’re already covering adequate rest and nutrition. If you’re not doing that, it won’t matter how you train.
