Supplement advice for ADHD

Hi everyone, I have a 17 year old kid and he suffers from Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, we have an appointment with a specialist but it's in 3 months from now, I wonder what type of natural supplements can we give him mean while, thank you.

I have ADHD or did I'm older now more like ADD now. But if your going just the natural route idk of anything sure fire or has a great or even good reputation for working with ADHD.

Providgil/modafil is prescription only but you can get it online without one from India. I think Russia it is available without a script.

I just tried it and it works ok, but I take a pretty high dose of a stimulant variety add med, and taken it since I was 10 off and till 20 and been on it since 38. So providgil wasn't going to do much for me I took it to try and use something with my other drug to lower the use of it.

However, for someone that has never used it. Might work great.

It's used by special forces and has a long track record for keeping you awake and non addictive. So it's pretty close to being over the counter but not natural.

But St. John's, saw palmetto, ginkgo is big, green tea and coffee, fish oils, folic acid, and vitamin D. Lots of stuff claims to work but as a really natural only way I don't think you will see any change or drastically different improvements.

Diet, exercise(big), sleep, and most importantly making routes stick and sticking to them (key).

But at that age he wasn't diagnosed before? Are you trying to get off meds and do natural only?

Well I know that isn't what you want to hear but sticking to routines is probably the most important. It's what I've struggled the most, and still. That is better than any med.

As much as I am for using natural alternatives to prescriptions, if you child has real doctor diagnosed ADHD - he needs prescription drugs to truly fix his condition.

Calming herbs and essential oils like lavender, passion flower etc. might help a little bit.

Keep him away from stimulants like caffeine as those will only make his symptoms worse.

ADHD, ADD, and all this shit never existed 20+ years ago. yeah people had it but they just dealt with it. I know people in their 60's and 70's who 100% have ADHD bigtime who are still successful people and retired comfortably. back when they grew up these things never existed.

so my point is as much as you want to helicopter your kids, the more you put pressure and stress them out over their condition and put them down, the less successful they will become. we all have some sort of problem we have to work through. my opinion is find a specialist or find videos who can teach him how to overcome it vs. putting him on drugs for life.

Some of this may be true for older kids but if my son did not have medication for his ADHD he would still be at a grad 1 level for reading and math. He simply cannot sit still and focus. He has a diagnosed condition. Because of the medication he has been able to catch up to where he is only a year behind. There is also no need to be on medication for life so that idea is incorrect. There is no just "overcome it" or "get over it" when they are young. Kids do not have that ability to understand. It is similar to that respect with dementia and Alzheimer's. They cant just get over it.
