I actually competed last night in Brandon. I was helping my friend with the show and figured if I am going to be there, I might as well enter myself. I didn't do any peak weak tactics or anything like that. I basically put on a coat of paint the day of the show and entered.

We both ended up getting second place. It was a very competitive show and a lot of fun.

My friend James will be coming on the Evolutionary.org podcast on Sunday. He is the bodybuilder in the photo with me. If I didn't know him personally I wouldn't believe he is 100% natural. He is a medical doctor and an extremely intelligent guy. I am really excited to get him on the show and to hear his thoughts about bodybuilding with the background of being an MD.

You have any questions for James, please post them here.

This is quite an amazing shape for a completely natty guy - he definitely does his homework in the kitchen and the gym!

As for you, @muskate, good improvisation skills by just going into a competition for fun! After all, it is not worth it if you don't spend a good time there.

Jesus bro. What do you weigh? Looks like 150 lbs. I'm.not trying to.be offensive but even if you're not juicing now I'm shocked at how little lean mass your holding on to.

physique category is not the same as bodybuilding.

trevor is a model and he looks fantastic, you have to respect peoples goals. when I was an endurance runner people called me skinny.. I was 133 pounds at 5% body fat. but those were my goals at the time.. then when I started bodybuilding people would call me a meathead and juicehead cause I was 80 pounds heavier. so you cannot win no matter what you do.

Agreed....I think trev is amazing. On top of that....he is super smart and motivated. Means a lot.

I'm shocked to hear your friend is natural. Goes to show you....

Completely natural. No SARMS, nothing. Makes sense with his profession. He has pro genetics. I have tried to convince him to venture over to the dark side but he isn't interested lol.

I've had to say very thin for modelling. For modelling, they want you 'skinny jacked'. I would ideally like to be a bit bigger but I am really giving modelling my focus right now. I love love love bodybuilding but there is no money in the sport. It is the difference from being paid to model, where as PAYING to compete. Except for the top 5 at the Mr.Olympia, every IFBB pro still has a day job. Models can easily make 100k+/year doing a couple photo shoots per month.

I am hoping to land a big international contract for September. It would be a surreal experience to get to travel the world. Once I finish the contract, I'll go back to trying to put on some size.

Again. I didn't mean any offense. I've been posting on evo for a while and I don't attack people and always try and stay respectful. In all honesty, I was just taken aback at his thin you look. You almost look kinda frail. Even for modeling, I think you could use a few pounds as there's tons of examples of male models that hold more mass. Did a specific agency tell you that's what they wanted? You looked different in the other photos you posted.

Remember that it's just a single photo and truthfully not a great photo of myself. It doesn't show the whole story.

All the big agencies are in Asia and Europe. They have a much different mindset there then we do here in North America. In North America, bigger is better. In Europe and Asia, thin is attractive. For high fashion (versace, louis vuitton etc) they want you very thin. Thats where all the money is.

OK. Guess I got kinda confused with your overall goal. I thought at one point you had mentioned that you were going to bulk up. Maybe I misunderstood. Good luck with your gigs.

I have competed in bodybuilding at the national level. I used to compete at 240 pounds. Being extremely muscular is not new to me. Right now, I want to pursue modelling and give it an honest go. I have no girlfriend, no family etc. Travelling the world and modelling internationally is something I could only pursue right now. Once I finish that, I will go back to trying to put on some muscle and bulking up. Bodybuilding is kind of like living ground hog day every day and something you can very easily maintain while starting a family, while in a committed relationship etc.

I know that if I don't pursue the modelling I will spend the rest of my life wondering 'what if?'

Does that kind of make sense?
