Sure, protein powders can help you get to your target for the day but you need to focus on food. If you are not gaining weight then start tracking your calories every day to ensure you are in a surplus. If you like having a shake in your diet just add things to it such as fruit, spinach, almond butter, chia seeds, coconut oil, oatmeal, etc. Those are easy ways to make them higher calorie but still clean foods.
