Cain Velasquez (11-1)
Cain Velasquez is an American mixed martial artist fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship where he is a two-time and current UFC Heavyweight Champion. He is currently ranked the No. 1 heavyweight in the world.
Velasquez utilizes powerful and extremely swift punching combinations. He typically starts with a jab, follows up with a hard straight right, and then adds hooks and uppercuts as the fight progresses. He is strong in the clinch, where he throws long combinations that typically end in a takedown.
If Velasquez knocks his opponent to the ground during a fight, he often uses grappling skills to maintain a dominant position while he continues to strike from above. He does not usually attempt submissions. All of his wins have either come by striking from punches, or by decision.
Velasquez has also been praised consistently for his cardiovascular training; he has tremendous endurance that allows him to continue to fight aggressively after his opponents have become exhausted. Velasquez's strong 'cardio' also allows him to throw more strikes. As of July 2013, he was ranked Number 1 for the most 'Strikes Landed per Minute' in the UFC.
Daniel Cormier (11-0)
Daniel Cormier is an undefeated American mixed martial artist and a former Olympic wrestler. He is signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, currently competing in the heavyweight division. Cormier was the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Champion. As of September 2013, Cormier is currently ranked the #4 heavyweight in the world and #2 heavyweight contender by the UFC.
Cormier made his promotional debut against Frank Mir on April 20, 2013 at UFC on Fox 7. He won the fight via unanimous decision. Due to Cain Velasquez, Cormier's teammate, being the current UFC Heavyweight Champion, Cormier considered moving down to the UFC's light heavyweight division. Some writers expressed doubt in his ability to cut down to the 205 limit safely, citing Cormier suffering kidney failure during his time as an Olympic wrestler, trying to make 211 lbs.
In his second UFC fight, Cormier faced Roy Nelson on October 19, 2013 at UFC 166. He won the fight via unanimous decision. Prior to the bout, he announced that win or lose, he would be moving down to the LHW division. Cormier weighed in for the bout over 20 pounds lighter than previous contests, at 224 pounds.
Junior Dos Santos (15-2)
Junior Dos Santos is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Dos Santos is the only fighter who holds a victory over current UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez, and the only fighter to knock out Mark Hunt in the UFC.
Dos Santos faced Cain Velasquez at UFC on Fox 1 for the UFC Heavyweight Championship on November 12, 2011. He defeated Velasquez in 64 seconds of the first round via KO to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship title He dropped Velasquez with an overhand right and finished him off with a series of punches. The performance also earned him his third "Knockout of the Night" award.
Fabricio Werdum (16-5-1)
Fabricio Werdum is a Brazilian mixed martial artist, a two-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, a two-time ADCC World Heavyweight Champion and European jiu-jitsu champion. He holds black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Judo, and Muay Thai. Werdum has competed in PRIDE, the UFC, Strikeforce, and Jungle Fight. He was the first fighter to decisively defeat Fedor Emelianenko in a mixed martial arts fight. Fabricio is now in line to challenge for the UFC Heavyweight belt after impressive victories over Roy Nelson, Mike Russow and Antonio Nogueira.
Antonio Silva (18-4)
Antonio Silva is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Heavyweight division of the UFC. He is the former EliteXC Heavyweight Champion as well as a former Cage Rage World Heavyweight Champion and a former Cage Warriors Super Heavyweight Champion. He has also competed for K-1 Hero's, BodogFIGHT, Strikeforce, and World Victory Road.
Silva faced Cain Velasquez in a rematch for the UFC Heavyweight Championship on May 25, 2013 at UFC 160. Silva was rocked with a right hand early into the fight and finished again via TKO in the first round.
Travis Browne (15-1)
Travis Browne began his professional MMA career in 2009, fighting in smaller organizations such as Bellator Fighting Championships, Gladiator Challenge and King of the Cage. He quickly amassed an undefeated winning streak of 9–0, including two successive knockout victories, in under 10 seconds, one of which was over TUF 10 competitor Abe Wagner.
Josh Barnett (32-6)
Josh Barnett is an American mixed martial artist and professional wrestler who currently competes in the Heavyweight division of the UFC where he is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. He has also won the King of Pancrase Openweight Championship and was a finalist in the Pride 2006 Openweight Grand Prix and the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Championship. Barnett claims a mixed martial arts record of "over 50-6" when both "sanctioned and unsanctioned" bouts are counted. He has also competed in Affliction, DREAM, and Impact FC.
Alistair Overeem (36-12)
Alistair Overeem is a Dutch-British mixed martial artist and kickboxer currently signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is a former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, Dream Heavyweight Champion, K-1 World Grand Prix Champion, and made history by being the only fighter in combat sports to hold a world title in both MMA and K-1 kickboxing at the same time.
Frank Mir (16-6)
Frank Mir is a two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion. He currently holds the record for most victories and submissions in the history of the UFC Heavyweight division and is also the only man in UFC history to win a bout by a toe hold submission. Mir has the record for most UFC fights in the Heavyweight division.
Stipe Miocic (10-1)
Stipe Miocic is an American mixed martial artist of Croatian descent. He is currently under contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, competing in the heavyweight division. As of July 2013, he is #9 in official UFC heavyweight rankings.
